Beckstrom arrived home on a furlough last week after graduating from an army air corps schOol where he also received pilot's wings and his commission. He is visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Beckstrom of Union. A bridal shower was given in honor of the newly married Donna Stuart by Gwen Peckham, Monday night at the home of Miss Peckham. Sorry to hear that Mrs. Alice Miller is seriously ill, and that Sylvan Dunn has been recently confined to a Salt Lake hospital. Joyce Rasmussen honored Mrs. Charles Furse at a bride's shower Friday evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Henry Jensen. Mrs. Furse is the fonner Mildred Jensen. Marvin Nelson, ARM 3-C, is home to spend a leave from the navy with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nelson. 'Wonder who else he· intends to visit in such aa short time?? Most recent marriage in Midvale was that of Minerva Dokas to Arnold Tod Blezer, of Kansas City, Missouri. They were married Saturday, and proceeded to Kansas City, where they will make their home until early in the spring. Minerva is the daughter of Mrs. Minerva Dokas. Last Sunday 25 girls from Midvale, West Jordan and Union served a lovely chicken dinner to the "boys" at the Murray U.S.O. On Wednesday night Miss Alta Miller reviewed the bo.o k, "The Robe" by Lloyd C. Douglas, for the Primary officers and teachers of the East M idvale ward. Mr. and M rs. R obert Mo rley a re pretty proud to tell their friends that they a re the parents of a wonderful baby girl. Mrs. Morley is the former Janice Beck, and this is their first child. Cpl. Bud Aylett breezes into town '!other night to spend a 15day furlough with his family, besid~ the guys and gals. He has been stationed at Angel Island, Calif., with a military police de· tacbment !and he's not a bad guy at that!) Hy Brown is basking in the nice California sun now for a change. He was transferred from L incoln, Nebraska to Santa Ana, Calif., three weeks ago. A birthday party was given Saturday in honor of Dean Jenson. Games were played and refreshments served to 11 guests. MISS TUTTLE TO READ PLAY AT GROUP MEET Miss Lucille Tuttle, instructot· ot drama at Jordan high school will read a one act play. 11 The Old Woman Shows Her Medals" before the Special Interest Group of the East Midvale MIA, Jan. 18, at 7:30 p. m.
