E. James F loto Friends and neighbors of 1\llr. and Mrs. Lester S. Rimington entertained for them at a dinner and dancing party at the Coon Chicken Inn Friday night. The Riming- Mr. and Mrs. Clifford J. Tame announce the marriage of their daughter, Alice, to Sgt. E. James Floto of Boise, Idaho. The marriage ceremony was performed J anuary 4, 1944, at Salt Lake City. The young couple was honored at a wedding supper given by Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Lindsay at the Graham home, 60 Grant street, Midvale. The bride was lovely in a gown ot powder blue with matching accessories, and a corsage of white gardenias and hosebuds. The guests were seated at a long table centered with a tiered wedding cake and miniature figures of the bride and groom at each end of the table. L ong white tapers in crystal candleholders completed the decorations. Immediate family of the young couple were in attendance. Sgt. and Mrs. Floto will make their home in Boise. On Sunday evening, January 9, Mr. and Mrs. Chris K. Steadman of West Jordan entertained at a Candle-light supper in honor o! their neice, Ml.·s. James Flo to. tons, who are leaving soon to make were presented with a lovely contheir home in San Francisco, Calif., sole set by the group. Car~ dall, 116 Q St., and the greatgrandson of J ohn Taylor, third president of the L.D.S. church. He js a graduate of the University of Utah . Miss Furse is a well-known member of the Salt Lake Society, having made her home in Salt Lake for several years. She was also afiiHated with the Delta Theta Chi social sorority for business girls. An open house was held at the Cardall home Sunday afternoon and evening, at which time many friends called. The wedding date has been set (or January 18. A reception will be held that evening in their honor by the bride-e1ect's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Furse, at the CardaH home. After a wedding trip they will make their home in Salt Lake City. Special Interest Group H olds Interesting P arty 1 The Special Interest group of the East Midvale M . I. A. enjoyed an "Old Testament Party" Tuesday evening. Impromptu dramatization and games on Old Testament subjects made a most entertaining and instructive evening. Prizes were contributed by members of the group and everyone present won at least one prize. Highest honors of the evening went to Mrs. Leland Goff, with Parley R. Glover only a half-point behind. The grand prize was the beautiful two volume masterpiece, "Joseph in Egypt,'' by Thomas Mann. Peanuts and home-made candy were served to thirty~two members. Pierian Club to Meet \Vith Mrs. Bur kinshaw The Pierian club of West Jordan will hold their regular meet- Gold and Green Ball To Have Naval Setting Members ot the West Jordan stake Mutual will dance around "cruisers, battleships and airplane carriers" at the annual West Jordan stake Gold and Green ball. The theme of the dance is "Ship Ahoy." The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 25, and will be held in the West Jordan school auditorhu;n. Dancing will be to the music of Curtis Ackerland's band. A feature of the evening will be a floor show at 10:30, at which time a queen will be chosen from the various wards to reign over the ball.
