Stringfellow has been announced by Mr. and Mrs. Paul C. Guinn. Norma and Dale took their marriage vows in a double-ring ceremony on November 10 in the Sagebrush Inn at Taos, New Mexico. H. P. Cannon has been appointed chairman of the newly organized "Share the Meat" campaign for Salt Lake county by Commissioner Boden. Drew Larson is here on a furlough from Fort Lewis, Washington, until Sunday, when he will retum to his post, accompanied by his wife, the former Miss Dorothea Brown. Drew is a technical sergeant in the army. Bill Nilsson, of Fort Lewis, Washington, is also here on a furlough until Sunday. Bill was the first Midvale fellow to be drafted. Bet the Smelter workers have blisters on their tongues after licking all those twenty-five cent defense stamps they received as a salary raise! They might come in handy one of these days, though. Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Sowards, Mr. and Mrs. K. H. Sowards and Miss Essie Jane Sowards were Thanksgiving dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Cannon. Mrs. Lee Otteson will spend the Thanksgiving holidays with her parents in Richfield. In case no one recognized the name, she is the former Miss Fem Payne. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Jenkins, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Watson, and Fae Watson were guests at a birthday party Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Watson of Riverton. -Sandy SchoolsFIFTH GRADE SCRAP BOOK The fifth grade is busy making a large scrap book, showing all the thingswe have done in school to help the war activities. We are going to make posters showing how to help win the war. We have many excellent pictures and slogans coming in daily. We are all interested in making a fine scrap book. -By Dora S. FIFTH GRADE KEYS The fifth grade has been gathering keys, for they want to win the war, and they know that this is one way to help. They have 151 keys and hope to get more. Jelinek A mission will be given at St. Theresa's Catholic church beginning Sunday, Nov. 29, and continuing until Sunday, Dec. 6, with Rev. Francis C. Main West Jordan Scouts Hold Banquet Royal Stone of the Boy Scout Council in Salt Lake City, was the guest speaker at a Scout banquet held Saturday evening in Pioneer hall in West Jordan. The affair was given for the parents of the boys. Stake president, Vernal C. Webb, and members of the ward bishopric were special guests. Handiwork done by the Boy Scouts was on display and 12 new scouts received Tenderfoot awards. Henry Schmidt acted as toastmaster at the banquet. The arrangements were in charge of the scout leaders, Whitney McAllister, Lawrence Leak and Mr. Schmidt.
