Mrs. John Denney entertained at a birthday party Saturday afternoon honoring her daughter, Lela. Games and refreshment s were enjoyed by a number of her little friends. Mrs. Bert Wilkinson and Miss Margaret Christensen of Salt Lake were guests on Friday of Mrs. Earl Sharp. Tuesday evening, the M. I. A. Gleaner Girls and M Men of East Midvale ward sponsored a valentine dance in the amusement hall. A large crowd danced to good music. Ward priesthood conference was held Sunday evening in the chapel. The life of Joseph Smith was portrayed in pageant form. Miss Margaret Tholen was the reader. Mrs. Grandale Finlayson is horne from the hospital with her new baby. Mr. Finlayson was away from home part of last week, being held in Bingham on account of the snow. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Yates of Murray are receiving congratulations over the birth of a girl Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Yates were formerly of West Jordan. Mrs. Eliza Lloyd of Riverton, mother of Mrs. Qharles T. Dimond, is visiting at the Dimond home. Mrs. Lloyd is a lady nearly 80 years of age and insists on living in her own home by herself except in the coldest part of the winter. Mr. and Mrs. William S. Dimond are visiting at the home of their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Hardcastle, of Sandy during the cold, snowy weather. Mrs. Nellie Arbugast of Provo, sister of Mrs. Clifford Steadman, spent several days of this week visiting at the Steadman home. Kenneth Leak of Seattle, Washingtgon, is visiting his parents, relatives and friends. He arrived in Salt Lake via the United Air Lines on Tuesday of last week, 6 hours after leaving Seattle. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Steadman and family accompanied their daughter to the depot Sunday evening where she entrained for Hawaii. Returning home their car got stuck in the snow and Parley Spratling, their brother-in-la w, went after them in a sleigh. DRAPER (Mn~~. Olive Boberg, Reporter) Daughters of Utah Pioneers of the Ebenezer Brown camp plan to meet at the home of Mrs. Mina G. Mickelsen on Friday, February 17 at 2 p. m. The purpose of the meeting is to elect officers for the coming season. Mrs. Ethel Fitzgerald returned home Sunday night from a Salt Lake City hospital. Mrs. Fitzgerald has been suffering with 'pneumonia. Mrs. Llly Brown observed her birthday Sunday at the family home with all her children present. Those at the Brown home on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Brown of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Hill of Payson, Mr. and Mrs. Athen Brown of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. J. Jerome Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Andrus, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Day, Nile Brown and Mrs. Hannah Terry all of Draper. Besides these eleven grandchildre n were present at the affair. An illustrated lecture was given at the Draper school Wednesday by Mrs. J. C. Soffe, assisted by Miss Alta Miller, on flowers. The purpose of the lecture was to interest people in the organization of a flower club to sponsor the beautificatio n of the community.
