P . Murray, state club leader of the Utah State Agricultural college extension service. Of the number enrolled 4,481 completed their projects to make an average of 83.2 per cent completion. This record is largely due to the welldefined plans of work drawn up for the clubs to follow and the efficiency of 917 volunteer leaders who sponsored the work in the various communities of the state. Since 1923, when there were 673 club members until this year, enrollment in 4-H work has i.ticreased by 4,699. During the past year the club girls prepared 50,762 dishes of food and 14,127 meals; canned 21, 245 quarts of fruit, made 17,626 articles of clothing and remodeled 4,365 articles. Budgets were kept by 2085 girls and 1521 books were read. Club boys owned 327 purebred and 157 bigh grade dairy animals; 700 purebred and 126 grade sheep; 105 beef animals; 113 bogs and 1340 tur~ keys. In addition, both boys and girls were enrolled in forestry and crop clubs. A heal t h project was conducted in 24- counties as part of the regular 4-H program. County and state contests were conducted as a means of calling attention to the value of adequate food, clothing, rest, recreation and sanitation. The Public Is En ti tied To Know The Facts About Shoe Repnlr Prices We have always made it a creed in our business to meet the public honestly and squarely. We have always given them a full dollar's worth for every dollar they spent. We can conscientiously say that we have done this honestly-without resorting to "slick trade practices" or deceptive out prices. Or are you one who just kind of takes it for granted that it is printed regularly and will be in the postoffice when you expect it? A lot of people do just take it as an accepted fact that the newspaper will be published at its regular time and thus unconsciously express a confidence in their home newspaper. That trust is appreciated and never betrayed. That is why The Journal is regularly published once each week and always is in the postoffice early Friday Mornings. Your Journal is the result of a carefully preconceived idea, put into being through the use of intricate and expensive machinery, by an estblishment which has served Midvale for a number of years. The Journal is a legal newspaper under the laws of the state of Utah and the United States fed~ral government. The Journal does not just happen to be published when the spirit moves us, or when we feel there is enough advrtising to make it profitable. The Journal, like all legal newspapers, is published at stated intervals, presenting the news of the week and the messages of local business men. The Journal is here to serve you and the community. lt truly is your newspaper, and you are urged to make use of it at all times. • • THE MIDVALE JOURNAL THERE CAN BE NO SUBSTITUTE FOR YOUR NEWSPAPER 1 --...~~~·-,.,._..,."_lllo..,..,IA,...•-.1..,__..,.-"'-,..,..-J.,...,.~~~~-·... a -· their14.home Sunday.
