Greenig. Mrs. A . F. Lockett of Long Beach, Calif., is visiting her dau ghter in Salt Lake and her mother, Mrs. Kate Steiner, in Midvale. Mr. and Mrs. A. A. The out-of-town g u ests were Miss Van Johnstone and Miss G. Horst of Salt L ake, and Mrs. L. W. Nielsen and Mrs. N. F. Madsen of Sandy. A prettily arranged birthday patty was given Wednesday afternoon by Mrs. J. F. Stuart for her daughter Donna on her seventh birthday anniversary. Games were played and refreshments were served to twelve small guests. Mrs . H. E. Phelps entertained members of her contract club Friday of last week at her apartment on main street. The guests were Mrs. W. A. Stibech , Mrs. Frank Hart, Mrs. Chase and Mrs. Lucas, all of Salt Lake. The game followed a 1 o'clock luncheon. Mrs. J. M. Warner entertained at a bridge luncheon last Thursday. Th e guests were members of the Thursday club. Mrs. G. H. Wight and Mrs. Quick won high scores. Mrs. Wallace Williams of Magna was a guest of Mrs. Alex Beckstead on Wednesday. Miss Dorothy Redman returned recently from a visit with her sister, Mrs. Willard R. METHODIST CHURCH NOTES The church school will meet as usual at 10 o'clock on Sunday morning but will spend most of the hour practicing for the Christmas program. The choir will rehearse in connection with the practice of the church school program. Moving pictures are to be shown at the church worship service at 7:30. A radio will bring the Seth Parker program for any who wish to stay. The Epworth ...... eague lesson will be under the direction of Genevieve Huffman, who is president of the third department. The League meets on Thursday evening at 7 :30 and the lesson is followed by basketball practice for the boys and art work for the girls. The Scout troop has planned a swimming trip for this week when instruction will be given for the swimming merit badge and life saving badge. The regular meeting is scheduled for next week. A. club was held Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Mervin Bosh. The purpose of the meeting was to arrange for a Christmas party to be given some time during the Christmas week. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Larson left Wednesday to spend the winter in Hollywood, and other coast cities. They will be guests of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Goetz. Friday evening at 7:30, in the junior high school auditorium, the Midvale Parent-Teachers' association will meet. Mrs. R. R. Gilbert, president of the association, will take charge. Heber J. Burgan and S. J. Mickelsen of the school board will give short talks on parent-teacher problems. The following program will be given: "Ashes of Roses," a oneact play, will be read by Miss Lucille Tuttle; Miss Eleanor Parry will play "French Waltz," a violin solo; Mr. Gavin will sing two selections; Bennie Schmiett, trumpet solo; and the girls' and boys' glee clubs will sing three or four numbers.
