Show THE MIDVALE JOUilN AL p WEST JORDAN Mrs. Alvin Cundick and daughter, Glenna, of Midvale, were _~ruests of Mrs. Frank Cundick, Thursday. Mrs. Eva. W. Beagley and twin sons have returned to their home at Magna, after spending three weeks at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Webber. The West Jordan stake Relief society play entitled, "Rebecca's Triumph" will be preesnted Friday, December 18, at 8 p. m., in the West Jordan auditorium. Fast day services were held Sunday afternoon in the ward chapel, under the direction of David M. Haun. The choir, under the direction of Kenneth Hogan, furnished the music. After the preliminarie s, there were el_even confirmatio ns of baptisms and two babies blessed. Abram Goates and family were admitted to membership in the ward. Testimonies were borne by Mr. Anderson, Bishop W. W. Malstrom, Mrs. Harriet Jacobses, Mrs. Elzina Buckley, Mrs. Luella McAllister, Donald Hogan, Sr., Solon Richardson, P. T. Bateman, Mrs. Juanita Buckley and David Haun. Benediction by William S. Dimond. Samuel Beckstead of South Jordan, Hyrum Beckstead, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beckstead spent the weekend at Preston Idaho. While there they attended the funeral services of Amasa Beckstead which were held Saturday at Preston. Mr. and Mrs. George Elkins and daughter Mary were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Dowley at Spanish Fork, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Shulsen and family were guests of Mrs. Shulsen's mother, Mrs. Hannah Spencer, at Bluffdale, Sunday. A large number of visiting teachers and Relief society officers of West Jordan attended the teachers• convention held at Riverton Second ward Tuesday of last week. Miss Del!la Gardner entertained at a quilting Friday. Special guests included Mrs. Ellen Gardner and Mrs. Ellen Pearson. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gardner and children visited . relatives in Provo, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Hardcastle and children, of Sandy, Mr. and Mrs. William S. Dimond, Thelma and Alma Dimond, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dimond were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dimond, Sunday. Lois, Fay and Evelyn Holt visited Miss Gladys Allsop at Sandy, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Mitchell announce the birth of a son. Mrs. Mitchell was formerly Miss Hyacinth Haun. Mrs. Louis Nelson spent last week visiting relatives and friends in Lewisville, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Moon and son, DeJoy, of Benjamin, are visiting Mrs. Moon's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Lundquist. EAST MIDVALE Miss Grace Middleton and Don Worthen were Salt Lake visitors Sunday, dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Cutler. Mrs. Mary Graham, Mrs. Rose Greer, Mrs. Cora Paris, Mrs. Lorie Baker, Mrs. Golda Soffe, Mrs. Mildred Seddon, Mrs. Otilla Brown, Mrs. Alice Burgon, Mrs. Alice Wardle and Mrs. Rachel Forbush, members of the Unity club, met Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Grace Ashment of Social avenue. Refreshmen ts were enjoyed, after which regular club work was taken up. Reid Beck of the East Jordan stake presidency was the speaker at the M. I. A. conjoint meeting held Sunday evening. Other numbers on the program were a talk by Mrs. Grace Thornton; duet, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives," Mrs. Ora Beckstrom and Miss Fay Glover, and a solo by Mrs. Ora Beckstrom. Miss Elva Glover was accompanis t. Mrs. Clarence Sharp, Mrs. Harold Bishop and Mrs. Lester Forbush v.isited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Orval Forbush of Murray. Mrs. R. H. Clayton spent last week in Payson on account of the death of her father, J. J. Schearrer. Irven Swenson of East Midvale and Miss Hilga Johnson of Chinook, Mont., were married in Montana No- , vember 19. They are visiting here indefinitely. Mrs. Ouve Sharp, sister of Mr. Swenson, Mrs. Daisy Swenson and Mrs. Zelia Swenson entertained at a shower Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Daisy Swenson, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Irven Swenson. Twenty-five Progressive guests were present. games were played, prizes going to Mrs. Irene Jensen and Miss Hazel Lennberg. Refreshmen ts were served Mrs. Blanche Rosenhan entertained Thursday at her home on Union avenue, honoring Mrs. Leo Glover. Progressive games were played and luncheon was served to 18 guests. Mr. and Mrs. Walter McCleery of Murray and Mrs. Harold Bishop and children were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Forbush. Mr. and Mrs. Paul C. Pederson of East Midvale and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Hansen of Sandy motored to Vinward Sunday and were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Anderson. Mrs. Mary E. Yates was a weekend guest of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Jensen of -•ngham. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Huber and family of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. George Hicks were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hick of South State street.
