Indicatio ns now point to the possiblllty that pop corn growing may be overdon e in 1931, say specialis ts of the United States Departm ent of Agriculture. Pop corn prices, they point out, are very sensitive to supply, and price depressi ons due to overprod uction have occurred in the past. After a few years of fairly normal production, lf a short crop occurs as the reI tmlt of unfavora ble weather or other 1causes, the price rises to a figure atl tractive to growers. Immedia tely many i new produce rs appear who flood t•he 1market with disastro us effects to the 1 old growers as well as to themselv es. I Relative ly high current prices for I pop corn and low prices for field corn \ have combine d to make pop corn 143· pear a desirabl e crop, says specialf tsts of the bureau o! plant Industry . Judging from current correspo ndence, , .they say, many old growers are ex1 pandlng their acreage and others, at1 tracted by stories of their neighbor s' 1 profits, are planning to substitu te pop \ corn for part of their field corn acre- I The producti on of capons is a good practice fbr poultry flock owners, ac· cording to Ollver N.
