It Is thought that goblins are jealous of man's ability to find the hidden treasure In mines nnd they diffuse malevolent and poisonous influences to blast the lives and limbs of those that dare to attempt the discovery. It Is believed that there are six kinds of demons, "the fifth sort ot which are subterri-nean, living In caverns and hollows of fh• earth, often killing and hurting welt diggers and miners for metals, causing earthquakes and eruptions of flames, and strong winds."· The existence of spirIts In a metallic form would torment the work<>rs In German mines and In some ('Otmtl·les. h,v causing hllnrlness, SERVICE GARAGE MODEL 40 ELECTRIC $81 0 J'er 11.8-120 -.ott, 50o60cyde altemat• tube•) .Aioo Model 42 wltbautomotio Yolla1e resulator. $90. and Model44. an extra-powerful .. distance" eet. fllO {without tuheo). And by their knockIng pointed out to the workmen a rich vein of ore. There Is an Imp called "Gothon" which causes the miners a great deal of trouble, deluding them with false lights, noises and flames. Another is the appearance of a demon In the form of a "black dog." The demon feared most by the miners Is the Knautr-krlegen. The miners are often knocked down by deYils which they call Knauff-krlegen. After such falls the miners often die In the space of three and four days. Where the conditions are so hard, Betor<! I went on board the ship, I'd say, "Show me the menu car1!" CHAINS this winter? NO! Yet, safety all the time-not jUst when chains are on! And quietness all the time-not just when . chains are off! Cleated tires are the tire industry's answer to winter's most .annoying problem. What an innovation! The picture tells the story. Cleated tires ••• grip wet roads ••• bite into snow ••• are sure-footed in slush and mud ••• respond effectively to the demands of four-wheel brakes. AND THEN, after the trying conditions of winter have wom down the cleats, comes into play the standard long mileage Danlop non-skid balloon tread ••• ready when spring comes to take bver the changed road demands brought about by the difference be-tween winter and spring road conditions. The winter mileage provided by the cleats themselves is mfirel'J additional to the standard tread mileage.
