Main Street Utah A very interesting program was giv en in the Ward Chapel Thursday evening in honor of Nephi Hutchins, the ward clerk. He has been promoted to Stake Clerk. Mr. Hutchins has rendered a very valuable service to this ward and is given praise a,nd thanks by the many members of the ward. We hope for his success to continue in his new office as well as in the past. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Diamond and family of Magna, Jaseph Naylor of Midvale, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Palmer, Elton and Vaughn Palmer, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Rendolsbach and sons, of West Jordan, Ralph Bush, of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Palmer were dinner guests of Mr. a,nd Mrs. Samuel Wardle at their summer home on the 4th of July. The Shields reunion was a great suc,cess. A lovely dinner was served to about 200 people. A splendid program was enjoyed followed by dancing from 8 to 12. All that was lacking to make it more of a success was the absen~ of out of town relatives. Due tc. sickness a.nd waether conditions the Omaha, Idaho and Canada people were unable to attend. Mrs. Mary E. Shields and Arnold and Utahna Shields have returned to their summer home on the Weber. , Mr. and Mrs. George Stuart and family enjoyed an outi.ng at Liberty Park July 4th. . Lee Wright joined a party of friends ' from Murray and enjoyed an outing in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Levi Robertson and Mr. a.nd Mrs. Peterson enjcyed four. day outing in the canyon. The wedding of Charles Todd and Alice Carlisle of Granger will take place July 20th. They both have friends and relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Mack Holt of Magna visited Mr. and Mrs. Pete Robertson and Mrs. Mary Maynard o.n Tuesday evening. Miss Bernice Bateman of 1West Jordan and Leonard Beckstead enjoyed an outing- at Spanish Fork Monday. Charles Todd, Alice Carlisle and Mr. a.nd Mrs. Stanley Todd and Mrs. Hattie Mackay of Granger, visited here on the 4th. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mabey and children enjoyed a 2 day outing at He· ber City.
