Quard, Reserve honor Ogden ALC for support The Ogden Air Logistics Center was honored by the National Committee for Employer Support ofthe Guard and Reserve (NCESGR) for outstanding support of Utah Guard and Reserve members at a meeting of the Ogden Rotary Club in the Ogden Park Hotel. Brig. Gen. Thomas O'Riordan, deputy commander of the Ogden ALC, was presented the NCESGR Seven Seals Award by Brig. Gen. David E. Tanzi, the commander of the 419th Fighter Wing, Utah's only Air Force Reserve unit. The Seven Seals Award represents the seven branches of the Reserve military and is NCESGR's second highest award. Tanzi noted that the Air Force Reserve gets four percent of the total Air Force budget, yet it provides 20 percent of the Air Force's total combat capability. Reserve capabilities would be a lot smaller if employers did not allow Reservists to get the training they need, he said. O'Riordan said that the word on the value of Reserve employees should be widely shared, so the award would be prominently displayed and shared with all the members of the ALC.
