Show May 7. 1998 Support Center offers free classes in May Group celebrates nursing week by Lt. Col. John Kenney and Capt. Tracy Roberts 75th Medical Operations Squadron The nurses and medical technicians of the 75th Medical Group are celebrating National Nursing Week through Tuesday. The 75th Medical Group has 51 nurses and 80 medical technicians assigned. These individuals make up d of the Medical Group staff and will be honored for their talents, diversity and contributions they make to quality health care. Visible throughout the hospital, nursing personnel serve in dozens of roles to facilitate health care delivery. Nurses are assigned as clinical nurses, nurse practitioners, midwives, operating room nurses, nurse anesthetists, administrators, health promotion coordinators, education and training offione-thir- cers, infection control officers, executive officers, patient educators and patient advocates. Medical technicians are assigned to outpatient specialty clinics including pediatrics, orthopedics, general surgery, ears, nose and throat, Family Practice and Urgent Care along with the ambulatory procedure unit, e unit, operating room, education and training, and the Health multi-servic- and Wellness Center. All medical technicians assigned to the 75th MG are nationally registered emergency med- ical technicians. This training provides essential wartime staffing and asthma education class. authorizes them to work as a member of an ambulance crew. Milestones accomplished last year by the 75th MG nurses and medical technicians include: Development and coordination of the first Pediatric Advanced life Support course held at Hill AFB. Completion of three Medical Red-fla- g classes, in preparation for arrival of an Air Transportable Hospital in summer 1998. . The Family Support Center is offering the following classes in May.
