Since the announcement of the intention to request Voluntary Early Retire- ment Authority and the Voluntary Separation Incentive Pay, many employees have elected to save their use or lose annual leave. There is no guar- antee the authorities requested will be granted or that an individual application for either VSIP or VERA will be approved. Therefore, employees who have saved all or most of this year's annual leave in anticipation of a possible VERAVSIP offer, are reminded that they may end up forfeiting that leave if they are not selected. There are only three provisions under the law that allow forfeited leave to be restored.
