(AFNS) Although McConnell's ombudsman program is only three months old, it has already proven invaluable to many people here. Just ask Tess Washing- Christmas ton, wife of SSgt. Clifton Washington, a 22nd Maintenance Squadron member. While her husband was on temporary duty in Saudi Arabia recently, Washington's car developed problems that needed immediate attention. Looking for assis- tance, she turned to McConnell's ombudsman program. The Air Force program, which is being tested at McConnell as well as four other Air Force bases, is designed to provide support for families when military members are TDY, according to officials. Washington's troubles began Aug. 4, when she drove through deep water accumulated on the road from heavy rainfall. After driving through the water, her car started performing erratically.
