Show April 20, 1995 team takes AFMC volleyball Hill The Hill AFB volleyball team was not a very gracious host to their visitors as they conquered all competitors in the 1995 Air Force Materiel Command Volleyball Championships at the Hess Fitness Center April The competition was divided into two pools, with five teams in each. Hill's team played through their pool, Pool 1, undefeated (without even losing a set). Los Angeles AFB remained undefeated in Pool 2 as well. Also, able and awards presented for winners in the various categories on race day. e 10.7-mil- ts Hill soccer Register for youth soon for the American boxer defends state title Youth Registration begins Soccer Organization, which offers leagues for children of nearly any age and skill level. AYSO soccer is open to youth ages 41 ' to 18. Age groups are decided by age of the youth as of July 31. Children are registered based on their interest and enthusiasm rather than their skills as a player. Registration will be held May 4 and 11.5-- p.m., and May 13, 10 a.m.-- p.m., at the Clearfield City Building. Registration is SI 8, which includes fall and spring seasons. Shin guards and game shirts are required to play in the league. Adults interested in making soccer a good experience for the youth should come and sign up for a variety of positions such as referees, coaches and team support personnel. For more information call Hill AFB coordinator, Patty Finnecy, Ron Earl, a military member in the 75th Medical Group, successfully defended his Utah State Golden Gloves heavyweight title on March 25 after winning the division in last year's competition. Earl earned a unanimous decision over Sampson Tua'one in a fight consisting of three rounds, to earn him the Utah Golden Gloves heavyweight title for a second straight year. This year's competition was held at the Salt Lake Citv Coliseum on March Ron Earl 5-- 0 9 4 25. 774-573- Earl improved his amateur record to Tua'one. The with the match over the match was the only heavyweight fight in the competition and was refereed by Utah resident Gene Fullmer, who is a former world middleweight champion. Earl will now compete in the regional Golden Gloves competition in Great Falls, Mont., Friday. He will face Pete Sampray in the only heavyweight bout for the regional title. Earl, who has been wanting to try turning pro, said he may get his first shot this June on ABC's "Wide World of Sports." Earl said since his manager, James Young, is the matchmaker for the bouts, he should have an excellent chance of being selected to fight. The 220-poun- d 79-1- 7 255-poun- Archers prepares for season d The annual spring cleanup of the Hill AFB Archery Range will be held April 29. The season for the range is May 6 to Aug. 24.
