Goninig ff(DIP Gold - Changes to the Hillcrest Dining Hall include a handsome trophy case, built by 75th CEG members, to house the facility's many awards and honors; and a new salad bar. Inspectors will get a chance to see the servsituation as ices people in a pressure-packewill serve more than 1,100 Hillcrest workers reservists from Hill's 419th Fighter Wing this weekend. One of the more unique and popular features the Hillcrest facility offers is a sundae bar. They also bake all their own desserts and pastries and make all their soups from scratch. In addition, they also feature ethnic meals every Wednesday and are even willing to try "mom's recipes" submitted by patrons. If the recipes are well received, they are sent to Air Force level for implementation worldwide. Hillcrest manager, Norm Gilstrap, said he feels the key to his facility's success is the great rapport his crew has with customers and of course, good service would be nothing ETphe Hill AFB Food Service Activity is J j going for the gold ... again. A team will n U arrive from AFB, Ohio, Sunday to check out the Hill team, which is going for their sixth Gold Plate' Award, given for best food services in Air Force Materiel Command. The team, which will be here until Thursday, will survey the Hillcrest Dining Hall as well as the Oasis and Fire Department dining facilities. The inspector will also talk to patrons of all the facilities. The winner of the Gold Plate Award will be the AFMC nominee to vie for the prestigious Air Force Hennessy Award-Foo- d services employs about 60 people throughout the three facilities and serves approximately 1,500 people per day, which includes 1,200 at Hillcrest and 300 at Oasis and the Fire Department. Although not much work needs to be done to prepare for the team, since members of the 75th Civil Engineer Group perform maintenance on a regular basis, service workers and CE workers are making sure everything is just right anyway.
