Show '10 Hilltop Times Ogden May 19, 1994 leads suggestion program ... again ALC Innovative suggestions from Hill AFB employees continuously pour into the Ogden Air Logistics Center Suggestion Office and have resulted in substantial savings to the Air Force and cash awards to many of the suggesters. In fact, for 12 consecutive years, Ogden ALC workers have led the Air Force Materiel Command in the most approved suggestions, resulting in a larger contribution of savings than any other ALC. Of the total $167 million in tangible savings as a result of fiscal 1993 AFMC suggesters, Hill suggesters contributed $10.4 million of the savings by turning in 1,741 of the 9,000 suggestions and 726 of 4,000 approved. Overall, the Air Force saved nearly $232 million in fiscal 1993 as a result of the suggestion program, with $3 million being paid in awards a return investment of $77 for every dollar paid in awards. The number of submitted suggestions was down from fiscal 1992, with 30,000. However, the adoption rate was 29 percent in 1993 compared to 28 percent in ing. The procedure brought the filter back into tolerance and returned it to serviceable condition. As a result, the Air Force realized a tangible savings of $28,400 in replacement of the filters. Collier was award $1,555 for his suggestion. ' Craig W. Griffin, electronic technician, Glen C. elecLipsey, Amado A. Garcia and Mary E. Baker, tronic equipment repairers, noted that the Navy aircraft Tactical Air Reconnaissance Pod has a cryogenic system with various hose assemblies. When the hose assemblies became nicked or frayed on the outside protective covering, the hose had to be discarded and replaced with a new one. The suggesters proposed the outside covering be removed and recovered with a tubing material. The entire repair process required little time and expense and the hose was returned to serviceable condition. As a result of the suggestion, the Air Force has realized a savings in replacement costs of $97,161. The suggesters received a shared award of $3,615. Larry D.
