Show Hilltop Times Sept. 30, 1 993 Quajif y 'Fair focuses Learning how to enhance your im cusitemer services or- lilllS ganization's quality performance through improved customer service will be the focus of the third annual Northern Utah Quality Fair, Oct. 6 at Hill AFB. The theme for the fair is "Utah ... Customer Leaders in World-Clas- s Service." Officials are expecting more than 10,000 people from throughout the Intermountain region to attend the event. Base officials are inviting the public to view more than 140 exhibits and participate in free educational workevent. The shops during the three-daexhibits will showcase quality improvement programs accomplished by local and national industries, academic institutions, federal government and military agencies. "This year's fair theme of improving customer service is very timely and should be of interest to many people. Learning how to provide the best customer service and integrate quality improvement strategies are key business decisions in American industry today," said Dave Robinson, director of total quality implementation, Ogden Air Logistics Center. "Many firms and agencies are looking for various strategies to provide the best products and service for its customers. These strategies can often speU the difference between success and failure for organizations competing in the global marketplace today. "We hope the ideas they see and hear at the fair will help improve their customer service. The fair is" an excellent networking opportunity for Utah 4-- y ice providers and, most important, the total commitment from every employee to make that customer feel like he is the most important person in the world," said Robinson. "Companies that develop specific skills and strategies to provide outstanding customer service are the same organizations we see emerging as the most prosperous today. These are the companies that are winning contracts," said Robinson. An added attraction for the 1993 event will be free daily workshops focusing on how individuals and companies can improve their customer service. Workshops will be provided by local college faculty and other consultants. Reservations are not necessary. Cafeteria service will be available at the fair. Entertainment by area high school and college students as well as special appearances by the Hill talent team are also planned.
