Mr. Eppich has seen a significant number of changes at Hill AFB, all them for the good. "I have enjoyed Competition Advocacy. The directorate will remain an effective organization," said Mr. Eppich. ''All organizations will work if managers make them work. The competition advocacy function is a special pricing won't get lost in the myriad of things in other directorates as long as we continue our effective work." Mr. Eppich's career at Hill started as an industrial engineer in the Directorate of Maintenance. His aspirations have carried him from project engineer to a branch chief of the aircraft division, and chief of the electronic and accessories division in the Directorate of Maintenance. He was assigned briefly as chief of the engineering branch and deputy chief of the resource management division in the Directorate of Materiel Management. He also served as deputy director of plans and programs for the Ogden Air Logistics Center serving the last four years as Directorate of Competition Ad27 one-compe- titive vocacy director. Change is not a new commodity to the director; in fact, his experiences at Hill have been varied and over the years, change has been a big part of his career. He has seen a tremendous change in maintenance procedures in the shops, noting that technology has played a major role in the improvements. Sometimes I think I built half the buildings on the base. Turning them into usable office space has improved base operations vastly," said Mr. Eppich. "The impressions of Hill and my career are good ones. The computer has radically changed the way we do business. It allows the manager to keep up daily. The future is to create a modern high rise complex. I've always had good opportunities and jobs while at Hill, always finding the daily challenges as one of the IS rewards." e Mr. Eppich will launch his interests in a Fedmanner toward the National Wildlife eration, an organization which he serves as a member of the board of directors. He also serves as director of Region 10 of the federation, an area which comprises Utah, Arizona, New Mexfull-tim- Upon retirement, Mr. Eppich will continue his 4 torrid daily pace, taking time out for some desired traveling, both personal and for the wildlife organization.
