Show Hilltop Times .April 15, 1988 problem Appraisal If are in V supervisors are expected to rate employees in a fair and equitable manner based on work performance. Managers at higher levels are tasked with ensuring a quality review procedure is in place to compare similar levels of performance and work behavior. This procedure is meant to ensure that employees are treated equitably and ratings are consistent. If you feel you were treated unfairly in the rating process, you may want to discuss it with your supervisor andor invoke the grievance procedures described in Article 6 of the Master Labor Agreement. Employees dissatisfied with their appraisal ratings may submit a grievance within 21 calendar days of the date they receive their appraisal from their supervisor. You may call Mary Locke, Ext. 77251, for additional information regarding the appraisal program or grievance procedure. First-lin- e Mo. Con. The oneway driving situation will be brought to the attention of the base safety office for recommen- dation. . Hungry There have been occasions when we wanted to place an order for delivery service from the Bldg. 402 restaurant but couldn't get hold of them by phone. Why don't they answer their phone? The delivery service offered by the base JT . restaurant branch staff, Bldg. 402, has been and continues to be a grand success. Reorders and delivery calls are quests for take-ou- t accepted at any time prior to the delivery times of 10:30 a.m. through 1 p.m. and 5 through 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday deliveries are limited from 11 a.m. to noon. However, to avoid unnecessary delays, patrons should place orders on one of the three numbers available, Exts. 77945, 77947 or 77957, ing the law Vffil The speed limit has been changed from Vifcjr 40 mph to 30 mph on Second Street in the 1200 area. The majority of the motorists have not reduced their speed and it's making it very hazardous for those of us who are trying to obey the speed limit there. Can something be done to encourage the people to slow down? Rockin' too much There are three things I have observed at sJjT the base gym that I would like to see cor- j Not everyone on base realizes the speed limit on Second Street in the 1200 area has been changed to 30 miles per hour. In an effort to be fair to everyone by getting the word out through the Hilltop Times and the daily bulletin, a grace period through March 31 was established, except for blatant violations. The security police are now setting up radar to strictly enforce the speed limit. In the future, if you see other unsafe acts, please write down the license number and report it to the security police for investigation. Al Y : rected. The rock music thev Dlav is too loud. I would like to see them either turn it off or play something different once in a while. They have handicap parking, but no ramps. A ramp is needed so people in wheelchairs can get into the gym. I have seen several near accidents at the curve in front of the bowling alley when people have come in the south and north entrances at the same time. I think if you made that one way it would be a lot safer for everybody. , times. I ride the Utah Transit Authority bus and have to cross the road there. Why can't that crosswalk be opened at that time so we don't have a problem getting across the road? The reasons for the restricted hours at this crosswalk are its close proximity to the west gate, the large number of vehicles entering and exiting the base during peak traffic hours and safety of pedestrians. As an alternative solution, the bus you ride picks up school children at the Youth Center, then departs the base on Sixth Street. This bus could drop you off in front of your building. When you get off work, you should cross "M" Street at the west gate intersection where the security police are directing traffic. action im is your epportvnity to mcW Af3 o better alec t ibm, work and pby. Occasionally, delay may be experienced during the rush period because restaurant employees are either answering one or more of the three ; numbers or serving "in house" customers. Placing telephone orders before 10:30 a.m. usually alleviates most delays.
