Savings came from reductions in. proposed labor hours and elimination of a contingency amount. Although the contract, which was negotiated in San Diego, was not the procurement responsibility of the Og-de-n Air Logistics Center, the Systems Project Office asked for Mr. Morgan's help because of his experience and expertise in contracting for the repair of similar 6 equipment. Both the contract for the 6 modification programs and the contract for the B-- l repairs were awarded on time with negotiated delivery schedules that will meet the government's needs. Gabraith By Bill Directorate of Contracting and Manufacturing The Air Force recently saved $2.2 million on two 6 aircraft modification programs and a repair contract for the B-- l bomber. .Two employees in the Directorate of B-1- B F-1- Contracting and Manufacturing-Vaug- hn Morgan, contract negotiator and Gary Baker, price analyst-wor- ked with personnel from Detachment 28 at Kim Hae AB, Korea, to achieve a $L4 million price reduction by negotiating fewer labor hours needed to accomplish 6 modifications. These same personnel also negotiated a forward pricing rate agreement for use by all branches of the armed forces for work performed in the Pacific by the same contractor. In separate negotiations, Mr. Morgan and price analyst Jack Jones, F-1- (U.S. Air Force Photo) Vaughn Morgan, a contract negotiator in Contracting and Manufacturing, examines the area on an under modification.
