The Don Heath Heart Fund Milford Sets Swimming Fees for for 1990 Season Florence called the regular meeting to order at approximately 7:00 p.m. Those in attendance were: Councilmen Romine, Sower, Whitney and Carvalho, Kanell, Attorney Treasurer Kirk, Leadman Whiting, Russell and Jean Williams representing the Beaver County News and other concerned citizens. Swim fees were set for the 1990 season as follows: $100.00 for a family pass and $60.00 for a single pass with daily fees being the same as last year. $1.00 for children and $1.50 for adults. Councilman Sower motioned to accept these fees with Councilman Romine seconding the motion, all voted in favor of the motion. Mayor Florence requested a cleanup day be set aside for the residents of Milford City on May 24, 1990. This day the crew will be available to pick up garbage set out by the citizens. Councilman Whitney requested mission to purchase supplies r Jet A Fuel which will be sold at the Milford Airport. These supplies should not exceed the amount of Councilman Carvalho $1,000.00. motioned to purchase these supplies and Councilman Sower seconded the motion, all voted in favor of the motion. Mrs. Maria Florence, Ginnie Acklin, Melissa Holm and Heather Cox representing the Teen Council, were present to ask for permission to plant flowers around the swimming pool and tennis court area. Councilmen were in favor of the project. Ms. Lola Bridge, representing the organization of Americans Americans, requested permission from the City Council to use the Milford City Logo to print on pins and patches for a fund raising project for the Old Williams Hotel Museum. The council approved the request Leadman Whiting reported to the Council regarding the dumpsters he had looked at Ray mentioned the garbage truck works woll with the dumpsters and should have no problem using them. A total of 24 dumpsters were available to Milford City at a cost of approximately $400.00. Councilman Romine motioned to purchase the dumpsters and Councilman Carvalho seconded the motion. All voted in favor of the motion. Funds for the purchase of the dumpsters should come from the excess money in the sewer department from dumping fees. Also, Leadman Whiting was instructed to ask the County for the use of their low-bo- y trailer to haul the dumpsters from ' Heber City. Mayor Florence requested to leadman Whiting he gather all salvage owned by Milford City and localize it in one area until the City can get an equipment shed built for storage. Mayor Florence mentioned there were several sites where salvage was located and should be moved to one area. Mr. Keith Long, representing the of Americans organization Honoring Americans, approached the council regarding the lease between Milford and City Americans Honoring Americans. Because of the serious water shortage the council has ordered that water rationing is to be put into effect immediately. There is to be no outside watering between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. You are only allowed to water on odd or even days according to your address. A list of water and sewer delinquencies were discussed. Disconnect notices were enclosed with this month's statements. The council ordered that all delinquent users be disconnected. Becky Gillina has agreed to head the beautiflcation committee this ' year. The town urges everyone to dean up and fix up. There is a problem with vehicles parked along road ways. The residents should move all unused vehicles and wagons inside A budget hearing will be held conjunction with the regular council meeting on June 4, 1990. A revision of funds will also be made at that time. The trash pile continues to be a major concern for the council. If the residents of Minersville continue to abuse the rules at the trash pile, ue government may force closure of the dump. The council urges everyone to abide by all dumping rules The swimming pool will open on May 26, 1990. The Town is requesting that each family pay a $5.00 donation this year along with their swimming pass to help pay for the solar blankets that were just purchased. It is hoped that the solar blankets will help to cut down Honoring Mr. Long stated he felt there were some requests in the performance schedule that were impossible for them to meet Mr. Long was advised by the Council to rewrite the schedule as their organization saw fit and submit their changes at the next City Council Meeting. Mr. Long also reported on the progress of the Old Wiliams Hotel Museum. Mr. Long's major concern at this time was the cost of installing a water meter on this property as their funds were very limited at this time. Councilman Sower motioned to waive the water meter charge until the museum opened for any use. Councilman Carvalho seconded the motion. Councilman Whitney, Carvalho and Sower were in favor of the motion with Councilman Romine Romine Councilman against. stated when the water service was hooked up to the museum property, they would pay the same rate as each business pays. Councilman Romine motioned to give the old pipe, which was requested by the Trap Club, to the club for running their water line. Up to four lengths would be given to them. Councilman Carvalho seconded the motion, all voted in favor of the motion. Councilman Romine indicated to the Council if the Trap Club runs their own water line and installs their meter, his recommendation was the City Council waive the hook-u- p fees and bill the Trap Club .60 per 1,000 gallons of water. The motion was made by Councilman Romine and seconded by Coun seconding the motion, and all voted in favor of the motion June 4th was set for the tentative budget hearing. Councilman Carvalho seconded the motion, and all voted in favor of the motion. Mayor Florence read bids, which were opened in die presence of Nedra Kennedy and Kathy Kirk, for the fuel tank. The bids were as follows: Cecil Stewart $55.00, Tom Bradfield $150.00 and Joe Yardley $330.00. The bid went to Joe Yardley for the amount of $330.00. Councilman Sower motioned the sale of the fuel tank to Joe Yardley with Councilman Romine Seconding the motion, all voted in favor. Councilman Romine discussed briefly the main street project He stated we were still waiting on the Union Pacific Railroad as well as U.DO.T. The town received a letter of from Governor congratulation Bangerter on being a successful applicant for CDBG Fuuds. The funds will be used for the development of the springs to add to the Town's water system. One of the requirements for receiving the funds is that the Town must nave two representatives attend the workshop in Salt Laku City, on Councilman Whitney stated his concerns regarding the cemetery gates being left open at all times. Mayor Florence had met with the Beaver County Commission and stated Milford City will be informed of the commissions actions on July 1, 1990. Mayor Florence stated he would discuss with the three deputy's located in Milford the possibility of one of them accepting the police position for Milford City. By Kathy Acklin Milford Trap Club members Willie and Tom Acklin, Marilyn & Kevin Long, Teresa and Moe Gray, Todd Baxter and Travis Siefers participated in a District Round Robin during the months of March and April. They were picked and put on teams after shooting with members of Trap Clubs from Central and Southern Utah. The Round Robin was held in Aurora on Sunday for 3 weeks. Tom's team placed second and won a very nice shooting coat along with a trophy. Willie's team placed fifth and Trap Club vSf.- - hoid practice and Fun Shc- -, t'.e trap Wednesday at 7:00 p.m-club.
