Often logic, which i considered "the science or art of reasoning" is confounded by the necessity of religion to move forward in faith. As man practices religion he may advance toward his goal without being fully experienced or aware of the possible outcome. It is through faith in other truths, perhaps unrelated, that religion enables one to dare to do or experience the unknown. . Mankind has the blessing of God to do things and learn things that have been previously not been done. It is by experimenting with that facta ' are inspirations related and produced, discovered, which support reason. Reason produces logic which enables us to set processes in motion mat provide experience and result in creativity for the benefit of others to the glory of God. It is fair to assume mat logic breaks down when facts for reason are missing. Religion, which is man's desire to relate to the Creator God and His universe, is never absent and is our constant' enabler. As we keep our faith in God, following the example of our love, Jesus Christ, our religion will sustain us and logic can continue to be faithful servant. I feel the country is headed in the wrong direction when man begins to worship nature at the expense of all mankind. The Bible itself contains a commandment from God to man to go forth and subdue the Earth. The commandment is not for man to go forth and destroy the Earth, but for man to go forth and have dominion over the Earth and the animals. I feel that the Lord hasn't recalled this commandment, that man is still commanded to go forth and subdue the Earth. It is so unfortunate that so few people really understand the enviromental issue and desire to worship nature at the expense of man. Many well intentioned people are willing to be led by the eninto vironmental terrorists irresponsible land management practices. Environmental groups like the Sierra Club are currently pushing for wilderness expansion in the intermountain West that will cripple the area economically. The push for wilderness expansion is without sufficient is any economic impact analysis, environmental analysis, etc. Some research done by Public Utilities and other responsible parties indicate direct adverse economic impact per year of billions of dollars for the state of Utah alone. I am forced to ask why environmental groups desire to place land under wilderness status without regard for man when doing so will adversely impact endangered species of plants and animals. By designing land as wilderness, plants and animals will not be assisted in their efforts to survive in an increasingly hostile environment. Should plants and animals be expected to endure the continuous record extremes of heat, cold, drought, etc. without man's help? Why should man sit idly by while Yellowstone burns beyond reason and pollutes our environment. Why man sits idly by? Why should endangered animals be allowed to die within the sight of caring man? I don't think these events should be permitted, which is why I am opposed to father wilderness expansion. In addition I believe people should have opportunity to use their drive vehicles, motorcycles, snowmobiles, mountain bikes, etc. I believe oil and gas development, mining, rock collecting, picnicking, Christmas Tree harvesting, etc. should be permitted when done in a responsible manner. I encourage people to search the facts before they let their emotions dictate the future policies of land management in these United States. I think when citizens know the facts they will begin to ask questions like "How can Wayne Owens support designating 5.1 million acres of wilderness even expansion and prevent mountain biking in these areas?" "Is man really intelligent enough to play God in Yellowstone?" four-whe- leab the i . ' " '9.95 to '89.95 Ellens Photo & Video 195 So.
