We're going to be tested on a tough question. It's the question of whether we support funding for our children's education or tax reductions. If we support the three initiatives that a group is offering, taxes will be reduced. Sound's like a saving, right? Unfortunately, it's a saving laden with costs. If those initiatives pass, an estimated $160 million to $170 million would vanish from school bud- - NEW ADDRESS GETS PROFESSIONAL VARIABLE OF SOUTHERN UTAH eftop-vs- c L. Pencils ready? Her writing of the coming and goings of M ilf ordites was a must for many of our readers. Like baseball and football stars who leave the field with honor have their uniform number retired with them our paper will retire the banner and column "Milford in Motion." We feel that the personality of the work should not be changed by the institution of another writer but remembered and referred to for what it was and what it did. We are looking for someone who will write about the activities in Milford and of Milfordites. Anyone who is interested in this kind of reporting please come to our new office at 438 So. Main and talk to roe or Russell Williams. Retirement The Utah State Office announced today that the Southern Utah branch office located in St. George now has a new address, according to Bonnie Sweat, Branch Manager. To give you some idea about how much school programs cost, here are some examples: Driver education, $2.5 million. Kindergarten, $29 million. Busing students to and from school, $25.4 million. . Effective immeciately, all should be directed to 'this new address. The telephone number remains unchanged at Vocational and handicapped state programs, $6.9 million. School lunch, $8.9 million. Class size reduction, $8.1 million. Programs for gifted and talented students, $1 million. Textbooks and supplies, $2.45 million. If we wipe out all those services for students, it would cut about $83 million from school budgets. That's only half the amount schools would need to cut if the Initiatives pass. Yes, we parents are going to be tested. It's a real temptation to support a tax cut. children's dake, But for our isn't it our re- sponsibility to speak out against these initiatives and vote against them? It's a test of our commitment to our children. PTA - Because Children are the Future. 19860-85- 6 1M 8-- fc Pressed Bq! HERE'S MORE ABOUT SOCIAL SECURITY in Salt Lake City. LIFE OF RILEY as we go through life, stumble and fall many times, and it's so easy to blame someone else for the many mishaps In our lives. But have we really looked within ourselves. Is it possible I could make a mistake? For example: Was I really fired from my job because the boss didn't like me? On that thought may help me feel better but is it reality! Did I really do my very best in the job? Sometimes it's so hard You know we to be really honest with ourselves and to see ourselves as we really are. By recognizing our own shortcomings, we've taken an important which is step to all part of the responsibility we all need in our lives for sucess.
