Former Black Panther . leader Bobby Seale will debate the issue of apartheid with" South African Stuart Prlngle on Oct. 17. An and national champion in the 3,000 meter steeplechases since 1979, Marsh is also the president of the athletes advisory council to the U.S. Olympic Committee. Marsh serves as the official spokesman for the Olympics and amateur athletes. Since April of this year, Utah has had what is commonly known as a "lemon law" in effect. Since then, the Utah Department of Consumer Protection has received hundreds of Inquiries about the Utah lemon law. It seems there is a great hoard of people out there who have cars they'd like to get rid of. Donald Cope, who investigates most ofthe potential lemon lawcases for the state, says most of those who Inquire do not really have a case. He says it is unfortunate, but many of the people are unhappv with their car because they were not careful buyers. Cope says they may have bought a new car Impulsively and are now experiencing "buyer remorse." That is, they have a car that either Isn't what they expected or they got in over their heads on the payments and now they are looking for any excuse to get rid of the car. The lemon law sounds like an easy way out. available at College credit for what you've no matter where learned in life can be or how you learned it earned through the College Level Examination Program offered at Southern Utah State College. "CLEP tests are adm inisteren on an individual basis," said Gary Dunford, SUSC Director of Counseling and Testing. "Arrangements to take the tests can be made by contacting the SUSC Counseling Center rather than waiting for a predetermined testing date." General examinations in English, humanities, natural sciences and social sciences -- history are avail-- able at SUSC along with additional specialized tests or subject examina tions. Each CLEP test costs $30. Sample tests are available at the SUSC Library to give interested individuals an idea of the kinds of questions included in the examinations, Dr. Dunford said. "Nearly 2,000 students have earned CIEP credit at SUSC since the national testing program began in 1971. The majority of students earn around 12 credits while others have earned up to 46 credits, the maximum amount of CLEP credit awared at SUSC," tjie counselor said. "Those who earn CLEP cred it can save a.great deal of time and money while working toward a collepe degree," Dunford said, adding that CLEP testing was designed for the nontradltional student who has acquired knowledge through corresand extension courses, pondence educational television, adult edu- it."
