Morin Security Police Squddron New investigations Unknown persons shattered a glass sliding door on Charlestown Loop between 3 and 5:15 p.m., April 9. A BB pellet was found outside the door. There uc uu susptxu at nils lime. A coffee table was removed from the laundry room on the first floor of barracks 523 between midnight and 1:30 a.m. April 9. Loss was reported by the charge-of-quarter- s. .A family on Charlestown Loop reported a prowler outside their quarters the evening of April 10. A search of the area by police met with negative results. A bicycle was stolen from the family-housinarea on Minuteman Street between 8 p.m. and midnight, April 11. h The bicycle is a Blue Max, silver and blue in color, and valued at g 25-inc- $180. The Fire Department responded to barracks 523 on an alarm. Investigation revealed that unknown persons had thrown water on one of the smoke detectors on the first floor. The incident occurred ai o:k a.m., April l,. inere are no suspects at this time. A stylus cartridge with needle was reported taken from a room on the first floor of barracks 523 between April 8 and 12. The item is valued at $68. The watch is in custody of the Security Police Investigations Section and the owner may claim it by calling Ext. 77891 and identifying it. Other activities On April 9, a civilian employee was charged with displaying a counterfeit inspection sticker after being stopped entering the base. The operator was issued a citation and must appear before a Federal Magistrate Court. On April 10 a military member was apprehended for shoplifting. He was observed by a store detective removing a pair of sunglasses from a display at the main exchange and then attempting to leave the store. A police report was filed and the individual released to his unit. Alcohol incidents On April 10, police were summoned to the NCO Club by the night manager requesting assistance in removing an individual for misconduct and communicating a threat. Police responded, removed the individual and transported him to police headquarters where he was released to his unit. On April 11, Layton City Police informed Security Police here that they had arrested a military member for driving under the influence of liquor. Security Police filed a report with the individual's unit. On April 11, the Southwest Gate sentry stopped a vehicle after being informed the operator was driving without adequate headlights.
