Show HILL TOP TIMES Page 10 One of the most prestigious civilian events of the year was held May 28 when the Hill Administrative Club held their annual awards luncheon. The event honored nine local high school seniors who were presented scholarships totaling $2,650, which included two special awards, the "Chet Cochran Memorial Award" and a scholarship donated by Jerry Slatter, a past president of the club. Also honored were three civilians and one military officer who received the MACH Awards recognizing their management achievements. The IMAGE Award was given to a production management specialist in of Materiel the Directorate for presenting the best Management, image of a Hill AFB employee both on the job, in community activities and to June 5, 1981 industry. Giles Leonard was the recipient of this prestigious award. MACH Award winners were Lt. Col. Robb R. Alexander, deputy chief, Industrial Products and Landing Gear Division, Directorate of Maintenance; Clarence J . Curtis, an equipment specialist in the Aircraft Engineering and Reliability Branch, Directorate of Materiel Management; and Marilyn Y. Duffy, chief, Financial Management Branch; Directorate of Maintenance. Receiving the "Chet Cochran Slatter Special Award." He is the son of Ray Knowles, an employee in the Directorate of Contracting and Manufacturing. Receiving a $400 scholarship to the college of his choice was Brett of Roy High School. His father, Enji Matsumura, is an employee in the 6501st Range Squadron. A $300 scholarship was awarded to Blair Busenbark, 'son of Blaine Busenbark who works in the Directorate of Materiel Management. He Mat-sumu- ra was a Memorial Award" of $500 was Terry Capener of Clearfield High School. His father, LaMar C. Capener is an employee in the Directorate of Contracting and Manufacturing. Mark Knowles, a student at Ogden High School, earned the $450 "Jerry student at Bountiful High School.. Receiving $200 scholarships to the colleges of their choice were Marcia Allen, Viewmont High School, daughter of LeGrande Allen, who works in the Directorate of Distribution; Uzabeth Ann McComb, Clearfield High School, daughter of Charles McComb, an employee in the Comptroller; Kelly Marie Quiroz, Layton High School, daughter of Jerry Clayton, 2849th Air Base Group; Dawn Marie Pharr, also of Layton High School, daughter of Charles Pharr, an employee in the Directorate of Maintenance; and Barbara Rex, Box Elder High School daughter of Ronald Rex, who works in the Quality Division. The luncheon was also attended by 13 past club presidents.
