Gen. rant During Armed Forces Week, we hear the phrase "strong and ready" many times. We can't help but agree on the importance of our Air Force being strong. We can't help but agree that our Air Force must be ready for any task. The Air Force Recruiter Assistance Program is a way for each of us to help keep the Air Force strong and ready. Recruiters need support from the entire Air Force team to do their job. Whether it's a tour of the flightline or talking to young men or women interested in the Air Force, you can do a Nlrk Hanrk lot toward keeping the Air Force strong and ready. It's easy and it helps a lot. Recruiting service officials see an USAF Photo by Bruce M. AAcCormack) MM increasingly competitive recruiting outlook for the next 10 years. There will be 15 percent fewer 18 year olds, by 1986 and 20 percent fewer high school graduates by 1990. Fewer people and larger manpower goals create a challenge for us all. Air Force strength and readiness stem from its men and women. And that's what recruiting and AFRAP are all about. (AFNS) ml Country's call Thanks for. your effort As a member of the Hill AFB community, you can be proud of your open house last weekend. Most of you devoted long and hard hours to make it work, and you did an absolutely superior job. The numerous comments that we have heard from the general public and the news media support that view. The event ended on a tragic note, and we all feel that pain. But you are to be commended for your perseverance and just plain hard work. Our sincere thanks to all of you from the Command Section. We leave our families and friends. We give up certain freedoms to protect all freedom. We have answered our country's call. For what? It can't be for the pay. And you don't have to be in the military to wear a uniform. We aren't here for short hours or easy work. If we go to battle, it is not for conquest. Our blood and tears may soak the land, but we'll never get to farm it. So what are we doing here? We're not fighting for the things we can taste or touch. We fight for the user or patron. We fight for freedom, patriotism and dignity. We fight for love . love of ideals, home and family. We fight for hate hatred of oppression, cruelty and prejudice. And we fight for two little words. We strive to earn recognition, but we cannot demand it. As Napoleon said, "A soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of colored ribbon." Those colored ribbons can and do mean a lot to us. But what means even more is hearing two little words thank you from someone who understands the price we pay for those ribbons. On Armed Forces Day we'll be listening for those two little words. , (AFNS) , " MorMedia Sales, Inc., 1152 West Riverdale Road, Ogden, Utah 84403. Phone 394-965Sorry, classified ads by mail only.
