Show Page 26 HILL TOP TIMES The undefeated Wildcats, Hill AFB's 7-- 8 and 9 year old girls team continued their winning ways with a 4-- 1 victory against a tough Sunset team in American Youth Soccer Organization action last week. Scoring for the Wildcats were Ayana Hodges and Sheena Kirk with one goal each and Susan Hager kicked two goals. Strong offensive play was was seen by Jennifer Staud and Andrea Lear combined with many outstanding saves by goalie Merilee Brown helped ensure the Wildcate victory. The Hill Stingrays, 9 and 10 year old boys, won a hard fought game against Clinton by one goal, 3-Two goals were scored by Bryan Wassom and one by Billy Joe Gracy. 2. Nancy White came prepared. While on two weeks active duty with her Air National Guard unit at the 1881 Communications Squadron, she found the karate tournament she had been hoping for when she borrowed her husband's red belt. Mike Doyon, Rudy Gonzales, Jason MacKay and Mike Ward played good defense, turning back many scoring drives by West Point. The Tornadoes ended the first half with a strong defense by leading goalie James Prince. From June 1978 to October 1979, she was active in classes and tournaments, dropping out from October 1 979 to November 1980. At the time of the tournament in Salt Lake City, she had less than two years total time in the sport. The average student takes a year to a year and a half to reach the green belt level; it is almost unheard of for a green belt to win over a black belt. . Ms. White hopes to get her black belt in the next year to year and a half. She plans to compete against Linda Denly of Houston, the U.S. women's champion, and hopes eventually to be in the international competition held yearly in Los Angeles. Ms. White is employed as a service representative for Southwestern Bell in in San Antonio.
