Government It is a ed fund (NAF) organization that provides merchandise and services of necessity and convenience not furnished from appropriated funds. I'm sure many people stationed at Mil AFB do not realize what the Hill AFB Exchange,. Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), has contributed to the base. HERE'S THE TEAM THAT PUTS YOU FIRST ON MICHELIN! ' These are provided to authorized patrons at uniformly low prices and to generate to reasonable supplement earnings appropriated funds for the support of Army and Air Force Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) programs. This does not mean that the BX offers lower prices than the local merchants on all items. Shoppers will be able to find single items that are sometimes cheaper than a similar item in the BX, but for shopping, an overall savings of 0 percent would be realized from the BX. TO ILLUSTRATE how you as a BX patron help make Hill AFB grow, AAFES normally gives percent of its profits to MWR. This percentage totaled nearly 15 million dollars in 1978. At Hill AFB alone, during the past six years, we have benefited in grants from Exchange earnings in excess of $1,450,000 for the construction of the facilities listed one-stor- e 15-2- Two Handball Courts 300-met- ' Lights for baseball field Platform tennis facility Local NAF funds were used to supplement construction of Thornton Recreation Center, the Child Care Center and the Youth Center. For 1979, this dividend is $1.90 per person, approximately $9,500 per month. During the past year, Exchange earnings have increased by $58,000. The current trend indicates an even greater increase during 1979. In the event you are responsible, in part, for this increase, you are assisting in the growth of Hill AFB. By supporting the BX and by using the system to improve the service, you can watch the BX work for you.
