Show Page 4 HILL TOP TIMES July 6, 1979 BldDtt F FD)Mc By Sgt. Richard Klosinski Buddies Two individuals approached the South Gate on a motorcycle last week. The driver was properly attired with a helmet, the passenger was not; however, when they were reminded of the need for everyone to have a helmet, the passenger became a walker. As they proceeded on base, each their separate ways, the driver decided to give the walker another motorcycle ride, although on base. They were observed and stopped when it became apparent both individuals had been drinking. When the driver failed the sobriety test, the passenger became obnoxious. To make a long story short, the passenger stated, "If you take my buddy, you'll have to take me, too." What a friend! End result was two busted, one for DUI, and the other for drunk on station and failure to wear a helmet. A dog's life An almost serious accident occurred when a little white poodle ran in front of a moving vehicle, causing the car to swerve and run off the road into a fence, resulting in minor damage. The owner of the dog was contacted and said his dog was supposed to be in the backyard. Well, when the dog returned home he was taken to the vet for treatment. It almost was a dog's life. unhelmeted cycle ride r d proved to be 0 hard-heade- MVAs rise What's an MVA? It's police terminology for a moving vehicle accident. Five MVAs were reported last week. One individual while backing up caused $300 in damage; another individual on a motorcycle saw the movie "Dirt" and thought he would try jumping a car, or was he snoozing? Anyway, smacko! He kissed the rear bumper. The list goes on and on. . . DUIs consistent Five more DUI (driving under the influence) incidents were reported this past week, with two on base and three off base. These are serious incidents and the lasting effects are there. If cited on base, it does get sent to the State of Utah, it does go on your driving record, and usually includes a substantial fine as well as insurance premiums, plus it stays on your driving record for five years. This is what happens on Hill AFB alone. Basically the same applies with local authorities. information is confidential or you may remain anonymous, but please report what you see.
