When relieved, they allowed only the time necessary to eat (it may be twenty or thirty minutes). Next priority are those on separate rations desiring to eat in the dining facility. Then, if possible, all remaining are given an opportunity for an uninterrupted lunch break. When this is not possible, they must eat at their duty station. Holding civilian appraisals Q A I received my new appraisal in March and yet it is still not entered into the system. I feel like I would be appearing on promotion profiles if my new one was entered. What is the reason behind holding them up? Many employees have asked why a new annual supervisor appraisal is not used immediately upon receipt in the Civilian Personnel Office. To be fair to all employees, the use of new annual supervisor appraisals must start on the same day. This year Headquarters AFLC established a procedure for uniform utilization of supervisory appraisal data submitted in conjunction with the March 1 rating date. AFLC has directed that "all promotion profiles issued on or after June 1 of each year reflect appraisal information recorded in conjunction with the annual rating date. A survey of AFLC installations shows that the March appraisals are usually not implemented until about May 25. Therefore, this approach does not represent a major change to former Orange roto-scoote- rs Q garden hose. A Parking at Bldg. 849 Q Would it be possible for the employees that work in Bldg. 849 to park at the west end of the building rather than in the parking lot? As it is, those of us on swing shift must walk through a dark warehouse to get to the stairway that leads to the parking lot. During the past four years there has been special effort to provide convenient parking for the employees of Distribution. The area west of Bldg. 849 was considered for parking but was too small to be cost effective. If developed, it would provide only for parking of govern- Lunch time for Security Police and other special purpose vehicles are allowed in the Maintenance wash rack. However, the reouirement exists that such vehicles first be washed off with the hot water hose available outside the wash rack for this purpose. The reason for this requirement is that many special purpose vehicles have accumulated grease and dirt buildups which would clog the wash rack drain if not removed beforehand. I would like to know how much time military personnel, particularly security police, are allowed for chow if they are on separate rations? Mission essential personnel, such as security police, fire department, hospital personnel, etc., do not have common tours of duty and do not necessarily have a given amount of time in which to eat. There are no written regulations that set forth a prescribed meal time for these individuals. The time allotted depends on the mission, personnel resources and available time. The security police, for example, allow first priority to those eating in the rs Invisible signal light Q ment vehicles, visitors, and medical parking reouirements. Therefore, planned expansion for parking will be the area southeast of the DST marshaling area. We do not, however, have any indication as to when this area will be developed as a parking lot. In the meantime, you should utilize the lighted areas of Bldg. 849 in walking to and from the established parking lot to the east of the building. The warehouse lights will remain on until all swing shift personnel have departed the building and there will be adequate lighting in the parking lot to facilitate movement of employees to their parked cars. roto-scoote- rs allowed in the MaiWhy aren't orange ntenance wash rack? Q items are personally reviewed by either the Commander or the Vice Commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Center. Remarks are recorded 24 hours a day, staffed, and a reply prepared. All While driving east on 6th Street in the mornings, it is often impossible to see the signal lights by the Youth Center because of the sun. Would it be possible to have one of the overhead signals mounted on a lower pole beside the road? The signal would then be on two levels, one of which would always be out of direct line with the sun, thereby eliminating a dangerous traffic hazard. A This problem will be corrected with new backplates such as the ones on the traffic signal on Sixth and "E" Streets. The purpose of these large plates is to offset the traffic lights against the background and make them more visible. These will be installed as part of an existing change order to the traffic signal project. Due to the long lead time to obtain the materials, work will take approximately 60 days to be accomplished.
