Show 2701 St The 2701st 1" Explosive Squadron is unique in that it is the only EOD Squadron in the United States Air Force. Its mission is to assure accomplishment of Air Force EOD responsibilities for reconnaissance, detection, identification, recovery, field evaluation, rendering safe or disposal of U.S. and foreign explosive ordnance. It also assures that an alert mobile EOD capability is maintained for immediate dispatch to all areas, including United States Air Forces, Europe and Pacific Air Forces. It provides EOD backup support and assistance to all as commands, requested by the Air Force. The Commander is to 2894th the Air responsbile Base Group Commander for completion of the squadron mission. The Support Branch is responsible for administrative support, supply and training of squadron personnel. The Operations Branch is responsible for maintaining three fully qualified mobile alert teams capable of responding to any incident requiring EOD support anywhere in the world THE OPERATIONS BRANCH The Operations Branch has two major operations at the Hill AF Test Range located at Lakeside, Utah. It assists in munitions test and development projects and disposal of unserviceable airmunitions and explosive devices.
