The season has ended for golfers and clubs and tennis rackets are stored. The last leaves of summer hold fast to the trees and the first flakes of snow are beginning to fall. Winter has now arrived. Other than skiing, what recreation is available to 20,000 military and civilian personnel on Hill AFB during the coming Ski Clinic Winter Sports Equipment In anticipation of the coming ski season, the Orthopedic Section in the new base hospital is holding a ski clinic where bindings on skis and boots are checked for proper fit. The clinic is held in the Cast Room, every Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. on a d basis. There is no charge. Winter sports equipment of all types is available for loan to both military and civilian personnel on Hill AFB. Equipment includes skis, snow shoes, toboggans, sleds and ice augers. Military Sports Loan is located in Bldg. 191 with hours of operation Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For further information call ext. 2225. Civilian Sports Loan is located in Bldg. 564, ext. 3669. Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. first-com- first-serve- e, Hillhaus Ski Lodge Hill AFB operates Hillhaus, a ski lodge located three quarters of a mile from nearby Snow Basin Ski Resort. This lodge operates all weekends from December through March and is available to both military and civilian personnel on Hill AFB. Hillhaus has overnight facilities for men and women, as well as a family dorm, snack bar and lounge. Overnight reservations may be made by calling Shirley Lynch, ext. 3528. ft Inlo months? First off, there is a wide and varied recreation program offered by the Special Services Division. Nearly all are for military stationed at the base, but there is also a large number open to civilian personnel. Here are just a few: . Ski Classes The nearby Miller Ski School of Ogden is scheduled to teach a ski class. It is generally held the first week in January. Registration for this activity is open to base military personnel, with applications taken at the Military Sports Loan desk. Hill Ski Club Very active during the winter months with many trips and parties, this club is open to any federal government employee, military or civilian.
