During this transition period the weather is generally the most pleasant and ideal of the year. Temperatures during the fall month average a mean high of 76, nine degrees cooler than August. The mean minimum temperature is 53. A high of 97 and a low of 28 are the extreme temperatures. Measurable precipitation during September averages four days. The mean average is .97 inches for the month. The maximum is 3.36 inches and the minimum is a trace. Thunderstorm activity decreases with approximately four days of activity. Haze, smoke, and fog again affect the local area with visibilities below 7 miles three times as frequent as in August. Blowing dust often precedes strong cold fronts. On Saturday, Sept. 15, at 10 the American a.m., Association of University Women will hold a membership breakfast at the home of Marilyn Hall, 676 E. Center potential members. The AAUW an is organization of women who have graduated from an accredited university or college. Membership in AAUW is open to anyone who meets that single qualification and the Kaysville Branch would like to invite any interested women to the September meeting. The primary national purpose of AAUW is the establishment of graduate fellowships for women by the FOUR Having already served for a little over eight years in the United States Air Force, SSgt. Harry L. Percival was sworn in for another four years of service by Lt. Col. Archie Hays, Jr., 2701st Explosive Ordnance Disposal Squadron commander.
