Each youth appointed must be 16 to 21 years of age, must have been attending school and show an economic reason for summer employment. Eligibility of each youth is determined throught the cooperation of the Utah State Employment Security Office. Youth participating in the program are paid from special funds and do not the Federal Summer Employment Program. The Summer Aide Program is to create meaningful work assignments and provide an atmosphere of experience and of training for the disadvantage youth, stated Steve Personnel.
