Show Page April 6, 1973 HILL TOP TIMES 2 'A critical shortage of electrical power is expected to exist in much of the United States' The seriousness of the situation has prompted the Office of Emergency Preparedness to request all Department of Defense agencies to make every effort to conserve electric power. Although electrical power shortages may not occur in some areas, energy conservation efforts should be applied in all military facilities. All employees should be prudent in their use of electric power at all times, and particularly during times of high electrical demands and impending power shortages. Some specific conservation actions to be taken include: Use minimum artificial lighting during daylight hours in rooms having adequate window or skylight lighting. Keep unnecessary lights turned off in storerooms, closets and other unoccupied spaces. Shut off lights and appliances when leaving office or work , areas.
