Colonel Newland, chief of the Minuteman Systems Management Division, Materiel Management Directorate, received a plaque at conclusion of the conference. Making the presentation was Maj. Gen. P. C. Sianis, SAC Deputy Chief of Staff for Materiel. The plaque was for the colonel's contribution to Minuteman weapon system logistics. The quarterly conference saw some 70 SAC attendees plus a delegation of AFLC and Ogden AMA officials and several officials from Space and Missile Systems Organization. General Sianis headed the SAC delegation. Maj. Gen. W.W. Snavely, deputy chief of Staff for Materiel Management, was head of the Hq AFLC contingent. Purpose of the meeting was to discuss and develop solutions to current logistics problems and to update the Minuteman team on the latest weapon system logistics status and program developments.
