Among those cited were six officers who were responsible for the leadership of the Cost Reduction and Management Improvement Program. Col. Ivan L. Ferguson, Comptroller, received a certificate as the Ogden Cost Reduction and Management Improvement Program monitor. He distinguished himself by outstanding leadership, diligence and personal endeavor in achieving 174 per cent of the Ogden AMA goal of $66 million, the citation noted. The savings accounted for over 50 per cent of the AFLC goal. Col. E. B. Mauck, director of Materiel Management, was cited for personal management emphasis on cost reduction which resulted in Ogden AMA responsibility. Max K. Kennedy, deputy of Maintenance, received "dl-rector ctiveness of Maintenance operation enabling Ogden AMA to report a savings of $14,005,000 during fiscal year 1968 in the area of equipment maintenance management. This savings was 560 per cent of the assigned goal. Col. Selwyn J. Barefoot, Col. William D. Cavanaugh, commander of the 2705th Wing, was commended for establishing an aggressive cost reduction program which enabled the wing to meet and exceed its goal in dollar Air-munitio- V?"
