During the past quarter century, the base has done a truly remarkable job in serving our nation's defense requirements and helping to keep the peace. "Everyone who is, or has been, a part of this great and important installation may take pride in its accomplishments. They have been many and varied. The effectiveness with which Hill Air Force Base has carried out its missions has been outstanding. Its dedicated, productive, and energetic people have worked as an Air Force team in making the base one of the largest and most vital in the defense establishment as well as Utah's leading industry. "We live in troubled times. I am confident that Hill Air Force Base, headquarters for the Ogden Air Materiel Area, will more than meet the challenges imposed upon it to keep our Air Force weapon systems at Go! "My congratulations to all of you for the job you have done. May your record of achievements inspire you to even greater heights in the years to come. Maj. Gen. T. "Hill Air Force Base has contributed greatly to the economic erowth and stability of both Northern Utah and the state through the many national security and defense tasks handled so ably through this facility. Hill Air Force Base has contributed to the cultural growth of our state, by bringing fine families from throughout the nation to mingle with our Utah families thus teaching us of other customs and other attitudes. "We in Utah are proud that we have had a part in keeping America strong through our individual, community and state wide cooperation with Hill Air Force Base.
