Local Youth Nine Tied for Lead Hill AFB's dependent youth baseball program finds the Western boys team with a 6 and 1 record. They are tied for the lead in the Layton National League. The Western boys team will play at the new baseball diamond, south of the base gymnasium on Tuesday, June 14; Friday, June 17; and Tuesday, June 21 before returning to Layton to continue the schedule. The minor league team, composed of boys bewteen 9 and 12 years of age, hope to begin play each Wednesday and Saturday next week. starting ' The Babe Ruth League team composed of boys 13, 14 and 15 will begin play Monday. The team shows a lot of promise with all the members hoping to make the team to participate in the state tournament scheduled for Layton in late July.
