Gen. K. R. Hobsoa Prior to that time he was sta tioned for four years at USAF, Headquarters, Washington, D. C, in the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations. For three years he was Director of Manpower and Organization there and deputy director for one year. In June, 1951, General Hobson assumed command ' of the 02nd Bomb Wing at Fairchild AFB, Washington. In August, 1947, he entered the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. Upon graduation in June, 1948, he was assigned to Strategic Air Command headquarters, Andrews AFB, Maryland, as chief of the Plans Section, Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for 'Plans. He became chief of the Programs Section there in November, 1948, and in September 1949, was named , deputy director of plans. High School in Oregon Born in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, June 1, 1908, he graduated front high school at Ashland, Oregon, in 1925, and then from the University of Oregon.
