The finance office at Hill Air Force Base got a "pat on the back" from Major- - General William F. at Hill McKee, vice commander Air Force Base. The commenda tion came in the form of a letter from the general which cited the local office for "a very high degree of operational effectiveness in earning cash discounts." "Since July 1, 1952," the letter stated, "the finance office at Hill AFB has saved the Air Force over $81,000 in cash by earning 90.49 per cent of every cash discount dollar offered by industry for the prompt payment of Air Force bills. "I consider this an excellent achievement," General McKee said, "I wish to convey to Finance Officer Major John R. Hogan, his staff, and all others who partici pated in this program, my appre ciation and congratulations. They have performed a very fine serv ice in building 'more Air Force per dollar'." k;r Wm I ij "T"" h 120 woras per minute ( Keep on tne ob . . . improve your rating. Paul received a cash award last week for a suggestion he turned in and next week will again take home some extra cash as a re suit of a second suggestion that has been adopted by the Incentive Awards Committee. A check for $23 was presented to Glissmeyer by Major Richard W. Taylor, chief, base services divi sion, for a device he invented that increased efficiency in the photo graphic laboratory. Glissmeyer de vised a vaporizer that he suggest ed be placed in front of the print straightener to moisten the sur face of the prints to prevent them from cracking. This system is cur rently being used in the photo lab and has resulted in increased output and improved quality of work. Next Friday onssmeyer is scheduled to receive a $10 award for a suggestion he made concern ing an improved technique for use in the darkroom of the photo lab. Glissmeyer resides at 911 West 7th North, Salt Lake City, with his wife and four daughters. "One reason so many children are seen on the streets at night is they're afraid to stay home alone."
