Embry, Ext. 293. m . ... 1 J- 4.1 . 1 i Spokane Employe Wins $250 Award A member of the OAMA detach ment at Spokane Air Force Base was recently awarded a check for $250 for suggesting and putting into operation a system of suupply vouchers prior to permanent filing. Receiver of the award was Lawrence P. Smith, chief of services branch in the stock control section. The $250 award is the highest obtainable under the Suggestion and Awards program. However, the idea of auditing the vouchers has been forwarded to Air Materiel Command headquarters and also headquarters of the Strategic Air Command for consideration and use at other installations. Should the idea be adaptable to other uses, an additional award will be given to Smith. The auditing unit established at Spokane was put into operation in October 1947. Simultaneous to the audit, a tabulation was kept of the number and type of errors found in each month's vouchers.
