He said that automobile drivers had not been obeying the traffic laws such as stopping for pedestrians who are in the yellow lanes. Some drivers even park in the lanes by fire hydrants. Christison, state highway patrolman, talked to all the grades in our school about safety. He talked to us about our bicycles. He said the reason some of us get hurt on our bicycles Is because we don't have the right equipment and we art careless. A bicyclist should have a light to see by, at night, and so other people can see him. When riding bicycles boys and girls are supposed to signal what they are going to do stop or turn. He said that bicyclists are supposed to ride on the highway but be careful when on the highway. When parking bicycles be sure to park them some place where people will not stumble over they. The right thing to do is to be careful and obey the rules. Next month the Central school is going to present a program for the Parent-Teacher- s' association. In this program the boys and girls will dramatize many of the things that Mr. Christison told us about.
