PROGRAMS S SUNDAY EVENING 111 Petition For Franchise To Construct Electric Line to Nona Granted. The County Commissioners had a busy session Saturday at their regular meeting, there being present Win. G. Ornie, Geo, Fran com and John Bunnell. A petition for a franchise to construct an electric line to carry twenty two thousand volts was presented to the Board by,John Richardson and L. P. Anderson, and on motion ol Geo. Francom, was granted. The franchise runs for one hundred years the text of which is, to construct a pole line beginning at a point on the public highway in Salt Creek Canyon about one mile East of the city of Nephi, running parreliel with the county road west to a point near the mouth of the canyon, thence North over private ground a distance of three miles to a point East of the new cemetery, thence West to the county road, thence along the East side of the county road to the town of Mona. Jas. W .Paxman, president of the Farm Bureau and County Agent A. E. Smith met with the Board relative to securing a supply of poison for the destruction of rodents. On motion of Com. Bunnell the request was allowed. The Board passed a resolution on motion of Com. Francom, asking the state road commission to construct a hard surface) road from Nephi to Levan. A petition was presented by a number of citizens from Mona requesting the board to resist the ap- . aiion of the Knight Investment Company to change the route of tie county road running west. of Mona. The Clerk was instructed to notify the Knight Investment Co. to protect the bridge and road west of Mona. A committee from the Nephi City Council met with the Board and proposed an agreement between the city and county on light and water for the Courthouse and Infirmary for the use of jail by city. On motion of Com. Bunnel, the County Attorney is directed to de- mand of Juab School District an answer on county auditors claim, for refund of transient stock taxes paid for 1919-2and in the event of a refusal the County Attorney is directed to proceed by suit in the name of the county to collect said money. The following special program will be given in the Nephi ward Sunday evening under the auspices of the Mutual Improvement Association. Everybody invited.
