On Monday the small children chil-dren at the school were tested at the Ambliopa Clinic (Eye Clinic). The Ray Browns have moved a house to their place to add on to their present home. Lillian and Ren Taylor are visiting relatives In Mr. Pleasant, Plea-sant, Provo and Salt Lake this week. Glenna Rae Taylor called her parents the GlenTaylor'sfrom Hawaii last week. She is attending attend-ing college there and Is getting along fine. She said her Uncle Alan Barney (Verna's brother) is stationed on the USS Bryce Canyon Command Ship at Pearl Harbor. Tonl Hardy daughter of the Howard Hardy's and Linda Lue Taylor, daughter of the Glen Taylors celebrated their birthday's birth-day's with a joint party at the school gym. It was the 14th birthday for both girls last week and their friends met for a good time together. Games were enjoyed after which cider and doughnuts were served. At the Perry Tlppetts this week was Bea's brothers, Theo and Norma Haws and daughter from Sprlngvllle and Erwln Haws and family of Farming-ton. Farming-ton. Gloria Willday and Richard War nick helped Margaret Gil-len Gil-len of Delta celebrate her birthday. They and Margaret and Eric went out to a birth--day supper on Saturday. Things have surely been moving mov-ing along at a fast rate at our new sewing plant at the old gym with workers beginning work on Monday. George Barton and Dale Love came down from Mid vale for the pheasant hunt. They also visited relatives here. Reva and Lynn Talbot were up north a day, at the end of the week. f Reva Talbot reports that their daughter, Linda Lue and husband hus-band Steve, Searle and three boys are moving to Omaha, Nebraska from Kansas City. Steve has received a promotion promo-tion with his company. Neal Swenson and three boys came down from Crescent to join In the pheasant hunt. While here, Neal's valuable dog, a Vizila got lost but was found later. After he had to go home Sunday so Randle called him to tell him his dog was back. Also here for the hunt at the Swensons was Reed Swenson amj three boys and Carl and Ruth Swenson all of the Salt Lake area. Jeddie Judd, son of the Lee Judds has been In the hospital hospi-tal at Delta during the week. At the Leonard Palmer's on the weekend has been Monte and Janice Palmer, and their family of Ogden. There has been a lot of sickness sick-ness among our townspeople lately. A lot of babies have had croup and flu Is spreading spread-ing In to so many families. At Randle and Oleta At Randle and Oleta Swensons Swen-sons recently was Willard Anderson An-derson and his two sons from Youngstown, Ohio. Willard is the husband of Randle' s daughter, daugh-ter, Rowena. Mrs. Golda Talbot received word from her son, Jim, on a mission In Australia. He writes that he has been transferred to Gladstone, Queenland near the Coral Reep. It Is a thousand miles from Sydney, where he has been. He saw Ron Hardy on Oct. 15. Jim also writesthathe has just had two baptism's. They were going to baptize them in the river but the water was too shallow so they baptized bap-tized them In the ocean. While the baptism was going on, the tide came in and covered two of the witnesses to the waist, who were dressed in their suits. Liz Cochran was down from Salt Lake on the weekend. He went pheasant hunting with Lowell Petersen. Beryl Hardy's dad, Clyde Wood has surgery In Salt Lake this week. An elated family this week has been the Hon Cropper family, fam-ily, who have all been thrilled with a little baby girl who arrived ar-rived at West Millard Hospital on Thursday, Nov. 5, to Doug and Connie Cropper Turner. She Is the fourth child for them, their first little girl. This makes 20 grandchildren for the Croppers, nine for the Fred Turner's at Sutherland. Great-grandparents Great-grandparents are Mrs. Lydia Ekins of Hinckley and Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Turner of Delta and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Theo-bold Theo-bold of Hinckley. ELAINE HARDY At Fern Hepworth's and the Harold Hepworth home on the weekend has been Dr. June Hepworth and his three boys from Blackfoot, Idaho. Also Thola and Joe Kolan of Leht and the Kolan's son, Kent and wife Carolyn. Carolyn's two brothers accompanied them down. They visited with the Harold Hepworth's and Rae and Owen Woolsey from Salt Lake. Leon Lewis and family were down from Salt Lake on the weekend at the Lee Wilson's. Alice Bliss Is recuperating from her recent operation In Phoenix, Ariz, with her daughter daugh-ter and family, Alice Gaye and Darrell Scow. Clark and VI Draper drove up from Moab on Saturday to see their daughter and family, Carl and Valyn Dutson and children. Harold Morris took Belva up to Provo Monday for a checkup check-up on her eyes, which she hasrecently had operated on. Clyde Stevens was home with his family this week. 5 Floyd and Georgia Taylor and children of Nephi were at Reva Taylor's for the two days at the end of the week. Also Darrell Taylor and friends came down for the hunt. Hinckley had a splendid voting record here this year. All but two of our registered voters who were here in town, voted, which is really an excellent record. Recently,- while Jeannie and Leo Ekins and their two children chil-dren were visiting out here from Boston, Mass. a family dinner was held at his folks' place, the Walter Ekins', Pre-1 sent besides special guests ' were: The Dale Bliss family, the Duane and Eldon Ekins families. Thls dinner was Forrest and Mary Taylor and children Kim and Sandra, and Mary's brother Brent McVoy, from Las Vegas were here for the hunt. They stayed at the Parry Taylor's. Also Jeannles sister, Patsy, husband Darrell Holden and their children,Dar-rell children,Dar-rell E. and Daren were here from Vernon for the hunt. Duane Galli Is working at Callente. Alan is there also. Blake Robinson of Escalante came for the hunt Saturday. The Hon Croppers had a family fam-ily get-together on Sunday and had an early Thanksgiving dinner din-ner while all of the family could be together. Darrell and Ann and four girls were here from Las Vegas, Mary Ellen Evans and three children from Lehi, and the Howard Roundys, rather a Thanksgiving celebration celebra-tion as they couldn't be together to-gether later for the holiday. Gaylen Croper and Doug Turner Turn-er families. Mrs. Reva Taylor has a new granddaughter, the baby girl born to Floyd and Georgia Taylor of Nephi. She was born there Oct. 12, weighing 81bs. 12 oz. , 21 inches long. She will be named Candy. She has an older sister Heidi and two t brothers, Kaye, Allen and Joel. Other grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. George Sperry of Nephi, with her arrival, Reva has 19 grandchildren. Newly-weds Marcia and Gary Day are now at home in Fillmore. Fill-more. They came over here on the weekend. Gary got In . some pheasant hunting. The Vern Cottrells and daughter Sheryl came in from Nev. on the weekend and visited the L. R. Swenson. The Duane Gallls' daughter. Paula has now been released from the hospital in Salt Lake where she has been for the past several weeks. She is visiting here while recuperating. recuperat-ing. The Hinckley Lions Club was host at a party Thursdayeven-lng Thursdayeven-lng at the School Lunchroom to widows and widowers of Hinckley, Deseret and Oasis. A program was enjoyed, followed fol-lowed by pot luck supper. The program consisted of vocal solo by Mrs. Karen Redd, song by Brent Peterson and a reading read-ing by Mrs. Betty Jane Morris. Howard and Elsie Hunsaker and a friend, from Salem have been here to see Golda Talbot . and the Eugene Bishop family. Also at Golda' s to see her was Mr. and Mrs. Lyle .Talbot of Magna. Dennis and Vicki Halsey of Salt Lake visited at the Eugene Bishops on the weekend; also at the Bishops was their son Art Bishop who attends Henagers Business College In Salt Lake. The Carl Hardys had a big crowd here from Salt Lake for the pheasant hunt. Judd and Jacque and family, Beryl's sister sis-ter and husrand, Wyla and Ru-lon Ru-lon Sherwood, Earl and LaVon Hunter. . He was in the Cottonwood hospital, and has been released and Is better. Reva Talbot Is the new president pres-ident of the Hinckley Ward Choir. Erma Cropper served as president previously. The Choir began Its practices for its annual Christmas Cantata Can-tata this Sunday. Beryl and Carl Hardy recently re-cently were In Cedar City and visited withVlRobinson,form-erly withVlRobinson,form-erly of Hinckley. They had been out to Las Vegas an were on their way home. At the Waldo Warnicks last week was Waldo's nephew, John Warnick of Gainesville, Fla. John is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvln Warnick, ( Alvin Is Waldo's brother). John entered the mission home In Salt Lake after leaving here and Is now going to the Argentina South mission. David and Linda Ekins have moved into the Rich Cropper home on Main Street. Pat Manis, son of the Walter Manis' is going to school at Dixie College in St. George. David Church, our Elementary Elemen-tary School Principal this year and former teacher here has moved to Cedar City to become affiliated with the Southwest Media Center down there. Jim Peterson rode out to Las Vegas on Wednesday with Howard Roundy. He visited with his daughter and family Karen and Ace Henrickson and children, chil-dren, for a few hours while there. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Rowley kept a doctor appointment on Saturday. Ladd Davles spent Saturday in Fillmore for the pheasant hunt. Owen Gonder was down in the Delta area on Saturday hunting pheasants. Mr.' and Mrs. Bud Richardson Richard-son were in Ely on Saturday while there they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Dee Hickethorn, Mr. and Mrs. Brick E. Smith and family and Mrs. Forrest Smith and family. ReVoe Callister, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Callister was a house guest of Blanche Richardson for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gonder spent Monday in Ely on power business. Mr s. La Rue Rowley and Mrs. Melvln Ridder were Delta visitors vis-itors on Monday. Mr. Carl Dearden went to Salt Lake for a load of feed Monday and returned the same day. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Whitlock were called to Mayfield Utah Monday due to Lee's father Merrill Whitlock being admitted admit-ted to the Gunnison Valley hospital. Lee returned Tuesday evening and reported his father was resting better, Darlene stayed to assist at the Whitlock Whit-lock home. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Dearden left for Salt Lake Wednesday morning. They returned Friday Fri-day afternoon and reported that Vivian is doing real good and expects to be released from the hospital before long. v Mr. and, MrSi Jim Dearden left Wednesday morning to go to Salt Lake for medical check- f ups.
