Mrs. Archie (Eddys) Barben Mr. and Mrs. William Starley spent Sunday in Fillmore visiting with Mr. Starleys brother, Wells Starley and relatives and friends. Mrs. Eddys Barben spent Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon in Fillmore visiting with Mrs. Merlene Callister who is in Fillmore to visit her father, Mr. Wilford Paxton ill in the hospital. Mrs. Donna Lovell chaperoned a car load of girls to the Youth Chorus in Salt Lake Friday and Saturday., Those attending were Barbara Lovell, Debra Taylor, Rhonda Rhon-da Porter, Vickie Barney, Becky Moody and Merrilee Clark came up from Albuquerque, New Mex. to join the group. She also returned to Delta to visit for a few days at the Lovell home and with her sister, Crystal. While they were all in Salt Lake they stayed with Donnas parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Buckmiller. Mr. and Mrs. John Adams and Gloria and Joan traveled to Salt Lake Sunday night on a 'business trip and to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Adams and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Spor in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Barben celebrated cele-brated their 35th wedding anniversary anniver-sary and Mrs. Barben's birthday Saturday evening by entertaining at a neighborhood lawn party at their home. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Ed Miller and three grand daughters, Crystal, Cynhia and Lisa, Mr. and Mrs, William Bassett, Mrs. Louie Lyman, Mr. and Mrs. Val Christofferson, Mrs. Peggy Crane and Wendy, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Brown and two children, Robbie and Robert, ; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sorenson and grandson, Craig Hardy, Har-dy, Mrs. Colleen Stewart and two children, Russell and Cindy, Mr. and Mrs. John Adams, Gloria and Joan Adams. A luncheon was served and visiting together. Mrs. David Olson entertained at a baby shower for Mrs. Susan Mad-son Mad-son on Thursday evening at the Olson home. Refreshments were served and many lovely and useful gifts were received. Those in attendance at-tendance at the baby shower weer Mrs. Virginia and Barbara Madson of Nephi, Mrs. Barbara Parry, Mrs. Norma Adams, Mrs. Donna Bunker, Mrs. Janet Christofferson, Mrs. Eddys Barben, Susan Madson and Catherine Olson. I Mr. and Mrs. Terry Hunsaker and two children Maralee and Patti Ann of Walnut Creek, Calif, are spending a week vacation with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orlin Hunsaker and Mr. and Mrs. Jan Wright. Mr. Victor Hunsaker of Salt Lake spent the weekend in Delta visiit-ing visiit-ing his parents and brother, Terry. Mr. and Mrs. Kimball Hansen and family were Delta visitors over the weekend with their family, the Henry Hansens. Kimball has been in Los Angeles the past ten months studying on his Sabbatical at UCLA in Calif. Miss Ruth Hansen visited' with the Hansens in Los Angeles and has been helping them move back to Utah where Kimball will again be teaching at the BYU in Provo this coming school year. Mrs. Merlin Theobald (Beuiah Barney) and five children of Pla-centia, Pla-centia, Calif, are spending a two week vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vert Barney. Mr. Easton Sampson and daughter, daugh-ter, Laurel of Beaumont, Calif, are visiting their family Mrs. Fontella Bishop and Mrs. Betty Johnson. Mr. Sampson came to Utah to see his son, Craig off for an LDS mission in Ohio. They left for home i:i Calif, on Monday. Mrs. Fontella Bishop left Tuesday Tues-day for Denver, Colo, to meet her son, Joe Bisihop of Miami, Fla. oJe will fly to Denver and business and Fontella will visit him there for three or four days. Fontella will also visit with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Mortensen and family (Luetta Sampson) while she is. in Denver. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Twitchell and four children have just recently recent-ly moved into our town. We welcome wel-come them and wish them happiness happi-ness and success here. The three granddaughters, Lisa, Crystal and Cynthia Terry of Las Vegas are visiting here for several weeks with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Miller. Craig Hardy, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sorenson is visiting with his grandparents in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Brown and children, Robbie and Robert, spent Friday in Salt Lake. The bad wind storm we had Saturday really made a mess for all residents in the area. Everyone is cleaning up large branches and hauling loads of leaves and twigs away. Some trees were up-rooted also. Mrs. Chlora Twitchell returned to her home in Delta Monday from the hospital in Salt Lake where DORA ROSE To visit with Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Moody was their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Yundt cf Indiana, son, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Moody (former Betty Bennett) and children, son, Mr, and Mrs. Dick Moody, children, Joan, Janet, Jill and Ricky of Salt Lake. Daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Church (former Marlon Moody) and children of Calif.,and niece, Mrs. Garnce Faulkner and daughter of Calif. Garnee was attending June Conference at Salt Lake. Also their daughter, Shirley of Provo visited them on Sunday. Elaine EHason spent Sunday in Sutherland. Mrs. Lilly Owens, mother of Mr. LaVar Owens, Mrs. Shirley Skeem and Mrs. Rayma Brush, sisters of Mr. Owens were visitors at Sutherland Suther-land Sunday. Shirley sang a duet with LaVar accompanied by Rayma. Mr. and Mrs. J. Grant Moody are with their folks, Bishop and Mrs. Thurmon Moody for a few days. An M Men and Gleaner Fireside was held at the Stake House Sunday Sun-day night. Fathers of the Servicemen Service-men from here told of some of the experiences of their sons in the army or elsewhere. Paul DeLapp, who is at Fort Lackland, Texas, has' spent four weeks undergoing basic training. His father reports that I military life make for indecision facing all young boys today. He urged people to write to the service ' men. They appreciate getting letters let-ters so much. , Mr. Fred Turner stated that the, Draft Law should be honored. He ! has had two sons in the Service. Gam has finished after having been in several places of hot war activities. Blaine has just finished his basic training at Fort Ord, Calif, and has been sent to Fort Gordon, Ga., for awhile and now is in Huachuca, Ariz. His work is with radar. He has been on leave for awhile and will return to his duties on Wednesday. Mr. Herald Petersen reported that his three boys gained promotion in a short while. Allen (Sgt.) went to school with much study and then was sent to Korea, then Okla. Sherman (Sgt, also) with the Medics was sent to Vietnam where he was seriously wounded. He spent much time in the hospital. He stated that "We do belong in Vietnam. It would be drastic if the troups were to leave." Sherman was thankful for his medical corn- she recently under went surgery. We wish her a very speedy recovery and hope she will be out and around again soon. Mrs. Ferrell (Willden) Ireland and two children of Las Vegas, Nev. were Delta visitors Friday afternoon. after-noon. ! Mr. and Mrs. David Olson and Lee traveled to Salt Lake Friday . to attend the funeral of David's grandmother. Miss Lois Henrie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fondd Henrie is spending the summer in San Dusky, 1 Ohio, with her aunt and uncle, Mr. ' and Mrs. Truman Woodworth and i cousins, Dexter and Gregg, who ! just recently moved to Ohio from 1 Santa Anna, Calif. Lois is working: at the Cedar Point Recreation Park on Lake Erie. j Here to visit her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Robert Fields is their j daughter Carol Singletary, Isle , Palms, South Carolina and her dau-1 ghter, Cinnamon Renee. Mrs. Singletary Sin-gletary and daughter arrived last week and will stay until mid-July. This is Mrs. Singletary's first visit to Utah. panion. It consists of a lot of worry and a long Itme to be way but it is good to have them help protect pro-tect our country. Naturally, they are all glad to be released and get into normal life again. Pres. Frank Lyman reported that his son, John, finished his boot camp training at Fort Ord, and that he too was proud that his boy accepted his call willingly. His assignments as-signments were one of three things, he had been taking Clerks Training, Chemical course or to Vietnam. He was assigned to the Chemical course. He had done some work in that field previously. He was assigned as-signed to Dugway, chemically analyzing ana-lyzing vegetation where the sheep were killed some time ago. He reported re-ported many experiences some of them very funny and some not so funny. He will be discharged in late Nov. and then he will resume his schooling at the BYU where he plans to secure his Phd. There is also another boy from here who is serving his country, Tom Christen-sen. Christen-sen. We are proud of his also. A Youth Conference will be held at Nevada on the 17th and 18th of Juy. Al youth are urged to go. They want at least 200 youth from Des-eret Des-eret Stake. Vernon Law will be the speaker. Bishop and Mrs. Melvin Hepworth and Dora Rose attended the funeral of Mrs. Valerie Wilde, mother of David Wilde, on Saturday at the Morgan Stake House. So many nice things were said about her and Ive never seen so many flowers. Her passing has been keenly felt by all. Mrs. Elizabeth Tippetts stayed with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wind at Springville and is now with her son, Mr. and Mrs. Reid Tippetts. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Bayles left their children with the Tippetts while they made a trip toi Nevada. Ben Nielson is staying with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Skidmore. To stay also with grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Benson Ben-son is Allison Benson of Calif. She will return home after her three week stay. Mrs. Ruth Jones' nephew of Smith field will stay with the Rulon Jones for a few days. The wind has done much damage but hope it doesn't get any worse. People in quite a few pieces will have a steady job cleaning up debri and getting plants and lawn, etc. in shape again. Also the farm crops such as corn and grain and some alfalfa seed have been damaged. dam-aged. Mrs. Ivone Miller and daughter, Jana Lee and mother, Mrs. Zelda Ogden spent three days In Salt Lake last week. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Bennett and daugther, Sylvia and her two children, chil-dren, all of Tooele, visited with Mr. and Mrs. John Jensen over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Jones and family were in Smithfield over the weekend where they helped to celebrate the Golden Wedding Anniversary An-niversary of Mrs. Jones' parents. South Delta . . . Garrison News BLANCHE RICHARDSON Mr. and Mrs. Lee Dearden spent Fathers Day in Richfield visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Rod Rickenback. On their way home they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Orran Ashby in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Lee vVhitlock spent Fathers Day in Mayfield visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Whitlock. Mrs. Daisy Gonder and son, Kevin made a trip to Delta Wednesday to keep a dentist appointment. Mr. and Mrs. Dell Young returned return-ed Wednesday from Salt Lake. They had spent the weekend there with their three children. Mr. Bert Gledhill was in Ely Thursday. Mrs. Blanche Yersin spent a few days in Ely with her daughter, Thelma Heckethorn. Mrs. Daisy Gonder and Frona Huntington were business visitors in Delta Friday. Mt. Wheeler Power had a meeting meet-ing Friday. All board members were present. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eames took their daughter, Patrece to Dr. Bird Friday to have her small finger taken care of. The wind had blown the front door shut on her finger. Margaret Richardson of Las Vegas Veg-as arrived in Garrison Friday night to spend a few weeks witah her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Richardson and daughters. Margaret and Blanche went to Salt Lake then picked up Donna and drove to Tremonton, Ut. to a Miller fanvly reunion being held at Harry Miller's. They retured Sunday night. George Yersin, father of Earl Yersin passed away Friday, June 26th in the Cedar Hospital, causes incident to age. He was 93 years old. 7.500 read it in The CHRONICLE Mrs. Joe (Colleen) Stewart Visiting at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Max Humphries and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Dalton over the week end were Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Pace of Las Vegas. The Paces were here for the Warnick Reunion. Also attending the reunion were Mr. and Mrs. Gale Warnick of Calif-Mr. Calif-Mr. andMrs. Gene Warnick, Azusa, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Warren, son and daughter of Tallahassee, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. Verl Johnson of Billings, Mont., and Mrs. Pearl God-fredson God-fredson of Circleville. Also here for the reunion were Mr. and Mrs. Gail Warren and son of Florida and Mr. and Mrs. Farley Warren, Vane-Jo, Vane-Jo, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Larry (Helen Law) Darton and family of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Don (Sharon Law) Brown and Michelle of Salt Lake were here to spend Father's Day with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Law. Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Mabbutt and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Oppenheimer went to Price Saturday for a Wild Life meeting. Mrs. Dona Cox and two daughters daugh-ters spent last week in Salt Lake visiitng with her sister who had an operation. She also visited friends on Second South. Mrs. Jim Morris of Parker, Ariz, spent last week here with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Rainsdon. While here Billie Morris had his tonsils out. Jim will be up to get them this week. Linda and Darwin Mabbutt spent Saturday night in Salina Canyon. Joyce Ashby, Nan Nielson, Barbara Bar-bara Thompson, Colleen Stewart, Fay Winsor and Dorothy Bladen drove to Gooseberry last Friday to pick up some of the girls who had been to Gooseberry summer camp for a week. Mrs. Judy Davies and kids of Scottsdale, Ariz, are heer visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ray Smith. While here her son had a tonsilectomy. They will be here another week before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. Romulus Shields had all their family home for the James G. Shields reunion, also attending the reunion were Mr. and Mrs. C. L Harris of Rupert, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wender, Burley, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Gifferd, Julie and Nancy of Jerome, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Gifferd and Ronda of Jerome, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Shields and family of American Fork, Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Shields of Garrison. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gardner and Mr. and Mrs. Owen Gardner had Mr. and Mrs. George C. Spark of Kennewick, Wash, visiting with them. George is Estelle's and Le. nore's brother. Mr. and Mrs. Romulus Shields had a nice visit from a friend they had not see for 30 years. They lived neighbors with her when she was a small girl of 10, Mrs. Dorothy Doro-thy Layton and four children of Idaho Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Tolley and family were in Nephi Sunday visiting visit-ing with Mr. and Mrs. Claude Tolley. Mrs. Linda Sue Stewart and two boys of Bountiful spent Tuesday to Thursday visiting with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Med Hawley. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Atkinson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Smith and Mrs. Judy Davies and kids spent Sunday in Oak City Canyon and had dinner and a nice Yisit. Recent visitors at the Ruth Jensen Jen-sen home were Mr. and Mrs. Leon D. Hicken and children of LaMir-ada, LaMir-ada, Calif. On Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Warren Jensen and family joied the Hickens at the Ruth Jensen Jen-sen home for a weiner roast and evening of visiting and fcome movies. Weekend visitors at the Ruth Jensens were Mrs. Arvilla Faris and children and Reina Barney of Spanish Fork, Mrs. Emily Eggleston and daughter, Elaine and Bob Woolley of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Jensen and sons of Sandy. Sunday dinner with the family was a occasion but the highlight of the day was Elder Dan Jensen's report on his recently completed mission in Northern California in the Delta First Ward Sunday evening. eve-ning. Kennard Riding has been named First LDS Wrd Bishopric Counselor to replace Richard Snow. Mr. and Mrs. Snow and family have mored to Salt Lake City where he is employed. em-ployed. Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Chambers (Eloise Law) of Portland, Oregon, spent Sunday and Monday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Le Grande Law. They came to Utah to attend the June Conference of the LDS Church in Salt Lake City. Sharon Phillips, Portland, Ore. and Diane Ramsey of New Braun-fels, Braun-fels, Texas are staying with Mr. and Mrs. Fran DeMuth and assisting assist-ing with the Southern Baptist Vacation Vaca-tion Bible School. The two young ladies are summer home missionaries mission-aries for the Baptist faith. The Bible school is being weU attended and in Rev.
