Announcement of the engagement engage-ment and forthcoming marriage is made by parents of the bride-elect, bride-elect, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Benson, Lynndyl. The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Davis, Las Vegas, Nevada. Miss Benson is a graduate of the Cosmetology College of Southern South-ern Utah and is presently employed em-ployed at Parowan, Utah. Her fiance is a senior at South-Utah South-Utah State College majoring in Drafting Technology. He is affiliated af-filiated with the Sigma Ta Gamma Gam-ma fraternity. A reception honoring the young couple will be held that scone evening in the Lynndyl Ward Cultural Hall. Everyone is cordially cor-dially invited to attend. First Ward News MRS. ZELMA SHALLBETTER We welcome Ora Gardner home after a months' vacation in Calif. On Christmas Day she visited with her daughter, Maryetta and Ray Forman and family. A son, Lynn, also was there to enjoy the family fun. On New Years Day, she visited with Dr. and Mrs. E. W. Murphy. She also spent an evening at the Glendale Theatre which is produced by Nathan Hale who has been as-! sociated with the church films produced pro-duced by BYU. Mrs. Gardner attended at-tended the 1970 Installation Banquet Ban-quet of the Interstake Business Professional Men's Association. Ray Forman, a son-in-law, was the outgoing out-going president. The ass'n presented present-ed Mr. Milton R. Hunter with $700 for the Primary Chrilden's Hospital and $500 for the Etta Lee Homes for boys. The vacation ended with a wonderful trip to Disneyland. Mrs. Gardner reports that sunny Southern Calif, is green and beautiful beau-tiful and smoggy. Justin Gray of Cedar visited with Mr. and Mrs. Fay Walker Sunday. Justin is Mrs. Walker's nephew. Rex and Nancy Stone of Midvale visited with their mother, Mrs. Elva Stone and other family members over the weekend. Mrs. J. LaMont Works reports that her brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. George Jackson of Salt Lake visited with the Works family on Sunday. Mrs. Leona Works says that their new granddaughter is really growing and they are eager to see her. But until Fred and Margie come home for vacation, they are having to be content with pictures. They have a picture of the new little miss when she was two days old taken in the hospital, but Mrs. Works says it is really difficult to pick out family resemblences. Anderson were honored at a wedding reception re-ception November 28th in the Delta First Ward Cultural Hall by the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dell Ashby. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Irish Anderson. The bride's blonde Iovliness was enhanced by her gown of chiffon over peau de soie. The batteau neckline was trimmed with seed pearls and the lace sleeves camee to lily points at the wrists. The chapel train was attached at the shoulder and had insets of embroidered lace. Her veil of bridal illusion was held in place by a lace flower trimmed trim-med with seed pearls. The following morning they were served breakfast and chauffered to the airport and the Hawaiian : trip Kennard won from Standard Oil Company is now becoming a reality Mrs. Dorothy Gardner attended the County Officers State Conven-, tion banquet at the Salt Palace on Thursday. Then she visited for the weekend in Ogden with her sisters, Harriet Campbell and at ! the Dr. W. R. Doxey home. On' Saturday, she entertained Mrs. Glen ' Gardner of Ogden and Mrs. Curt Skola of Salt Lake at her sister's home. The three spent the day reminiscing old school days when Mrs. Glen Gardner used to sing and Mrs. Skola played for her and , Mrs. Dorothy Gardner chauffered ; them (and, I am sure, provided much of the fun!). So, after visiting Clayton and Betty Jeffery, Warren Jensen walked around to Verla's side of the car, stood a moment, then walked back to the driver's side and got in. The ceremony was performed by Selvoy Boyer in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Jan. 6. They were met there by the groom's two sons and their wives, Keith and Pauline and Louis and Judy; his daughter, Dixie Lynn and her husband, Jim Anderson. The brides' guests were her lather, Ai- vin Beardall; two sisters, Jeanett and her husband, Fiank Jones and Doratha Cook; a sister-in-law, Mer-lene Mer-lene Beardall; brother-in-law, Paul Hardy and his wife, Rita; friends, Neva Sanderson, Eva Hanson, Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Day, Addie Underwood, Erma Hansen, Emma Winters, Carolyn Shepherd and Flora Timittie. Mrs. Rachel Cahoon returned home Thursday after having spent the past several days in the LDS Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Fairchild of Idaho are here for a few days, taking care of their farm interests here. Mrs. Masea Cropper was taken to the University of Utah Medical Hospital on Tuesday. Sgt. James (Jim) Mace of Calif, is spending a 30-day furlough at home with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Mace. Mr. and Mrs. Chad Anderson of Ogden spent the weekend with Chad's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ike Anderson. Layne Eliason, Sidney Ogden of Cedar and Dale Jensen of St. George spent the weekend with their parents. The program at Sacrament meet- ing Sunday evening was put on by Dr. and Mrs. M. A. Lyman and family. They told of their visit to Guatemala during the past sum- mer. It was a very interesting meeting. Each carried a single longstemmed pink rose. Mother of the groom wore a blue knit and Mrs. Gardner wore pink knit. Each wore corsages of pink roses. Filling best man duties was Don Logsdon. Ushers were Steve Gardner, Jim Sabey and Bill Lister. Estelle Gardner and Evelyn r.cbison were in charge of gifts. At the guest book was Eathryn McCall.
