Club members then went to the home of their president, Venice Knight, to hold elections and review by-laws ior the coming year. Alta Ashby was elected pres. with Louise Lyman, vice pres. and Le-Nore Le-Nore Gardner, sec. After business matters were completed each club member contributed a special part on the program. The YMMIA was reorganized with Monte Nielson as Superintendent Superinten-dent and Edwin Olson and Blaine Christensen as counselors. Then on Tuesday a ward MIA Conference was held with members of the Stake Board of both organizations present to our MIA. On Wednesday the ward Primary held their ward conference with Stake visitors, La Von Taylor, Belva Morris, Yvonne Church and Macel Anderson in attendance. The Wird Conference was continued con-tinued Sunday morning with aU the Stake Presidency, Pres. and Mrs. E. L. Moody, Pres. and Mrs. Frank Lyman, Pres. Eldon Eliason, Mr. and Mrs. Ferrin Lovell and Mr. and Mrs. Cutler Henrie were in attendance. We really had a lovely conference. This will be the last ward conference to be held in the old chapel. Mrs. Arlene Hecket is visiting from Ogden with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Taylor were recent visitors at Mesquite, Nev. and St. George where they attended the funeral of their grand mother. It feels like frost around the corner The other night I heard a noise and looked up and saw a skunk jump up on a cedar chest right near my bed. I very quietly slipped out of the room and got John to go get him out. He opened all the doors and it Walked right passed him and went out. We found next day he had chewed a home in the bathroom by the water pipes. He had been locked under the house and decided he wanted out. I heard him knaw about all night but thought it was mice. Mr. Skunk was very polite and left us no perfume, per-fume, thank goodness. We had aa nice trip in the mts. this week, saw no deer or found no pinenuts. Two badgers, one tarantula, one rattlesnake, one desert rat is about all we did see, except beautiful mountains and interesting desert. Willie Joe Corbett, youngest son of Chester and Elladene Corbett had his three year old birthday on Sept. 17. He said, "Now can I have cowboys instead of keds?" So now he has boots. Mr. and Mrs. Olen Sheriff of Cen-terville Cen-terville came down Saturday to the mill for a load of pelletts for their calves and visited us awhile then stopped in Lynndyl to see Olen's mother, Mrs. Hazel Sheriff. Mrs. Jeannie Fullmer Anderson of Grantsville and Miss Bev Anderson Ander-son drove down Sunday. Miss Anderson An-derson visited her friend, Kathy Stoddard in Delta. Jeannie and baby, Scott, e5me out here to Abraham. Alva and Sidney Young have been out to their Tooele County ranch in the hills. They have a sprinkling system out there and the fields look very good. Suzanne Petersen, Patty Schena and Shauna Fullmer went up to the fair last Saturday with a group from school. Garland and Phyllis Johnson went to Salt Lake Sunday to see their daughter, Jill who is employed employ-ed there. They also visited Garland's Gar-land's aunt, Mrs. Mabel Allred in Granger. who is seriously ill at the St. George hospital. While there they attended a session at the temple. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Nielson of Caldwell, Idaho brought their sons Wesley and Steven to Utah where they will attend school at BYU and Logan. They came on down to visit their father, Mr. Peter Nielson for a few days. They visited a brother, Robert at Fillmore on Friday Fri-day and returned Saturday to their home in Caldwell. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Anderson had as dinner guests Sunday Mr. Peter Nielson and the family jf Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Finlinson and the Cling family of Los Angeles, California. Mr. and Mrs. Maiben Jacobson had a big day on Saturday. They took their daughter, Jewel Mike-sell Mike-sell to Salt Lake where she boarded board-ed the plane to Hawaii where she wil spend a week visiting her husband, hus-band, Andy, who is serving in the Armed Forces in Vietnam. While in Salt Lake they received word that they were grandparents for the first time to a little granddaughter grand-daughter born at Logan to Kyle and Annett. They moved to Logan last week where Kyle is attending school. Mrs. Ellis Anderson enjoyed visits Friday thru Sunday from members of her family, Mrs. Avis Stephenson Stephen-son and children, then on Saturday Mrs. Frances Anderson and daughters, daugh-ters, Laura Jean and Raelyn and a friend, Fred Kesler, also Mr. Robert McTilton of Los Angeles, Calif. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Young and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Poulson of Richfield and Mr. and Mrs. Max Cox and family and Mrs. Avis Stephenson and family were dinner din-ner guests at her home. The Daughters of the Pioneers will hold their monthly meeting on Friday, Oct. 3rd at the home of Margaret Roper. The lesson wUl be the story of Maj. Leslie Powell and his expidition down the Green and Colorado rivers. The history will be one of our own pioneers. Everyone is invited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Siciliano of Salt Lake were recent visitors at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Finlinson. Mrs. Lyman Finlinson and daughters, dau-ghters, Sara Rae, Robin and Melody Mel-ody spent Thursday at Provo helping help-ing Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Smith move into their home. The Smiths will be attending school at the BYU this winter. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Lovell attended at-tended the State Fair Saturday. Bruce became ill and was taken to the West Millard Hospital where he had surgery Sunday. Mrs. Donna Anderson and Roger visited Sunday at the University Hospital in Salt Lake with Melvin and LaMar. Both are recuperating just fine after the kidney transplant trans-plant on Thursday. Our best wishes to both of them for a speedy recovery. re-covery.
